Barber Shop in Classic?

I really miss this feature from retail.

Given that the lighting and colors in the character creation screen do not look quite the same in actual game play, it’d be nice to tweak my character’s look a bit instead of having to start all the way over with a new toon.

I seriously must have re-made the same Tauren druid dozens of times because I wanted to try different color horns, facial hair etc.

I’m not asking for any freebies here, I’d pay the gold for the changes. I realize that the character options are more limited, and so a classic barber shop would have to be limited as well compared to retail, but I’d still like one.

What do you all think? Am I the only one who is OCD / decision paralyzed regarding my character’s looks?

PS (Edit) - I did play in classic originally sans barber shop, but its a feature I’ve gotten spoiled on since I suppose lol.

This is absolutely not needed for classic.

As it wouldn’t affect game balance in any way I don’t care.

However, I seriously doubt they’ll ever add it to classic.

Yea its really hard to look at your character after creation. Delete it and try again

These are my exact thoughts. I would love things like barber shops and transmogs but I don’t think it will ever happen.

If you need the barber shop to be happy in classic than maybe classic isn’t for you.

If you want to suggest changes to WoW the correct place for that is in the retail forums.

Come on guys… The barber shop does not affect gameplay at all. It lets you change your frigging hair style.

I mean I am for the most part with the no changes crowd but I would not care at all if a barbershop were added.

I wholeheartedly agree. The purists will cry foul and have a hissy fit… But in the end I foresee QoL changes like this happening “soon”.

It’s appreciating the job and the idea suffered in that generation in azeroth. The times in classic where ones where the population could not worry of changing hairstyles when you have to be busy to eat, travel and quest.

Well in the case of my Tauren, the textures are very much lighter in game than in the character creation screen. The light colors and whites almost glow compared to the login screen. I guess it is hard to explain in words. If I am going to have to look at the same toon for 60 levels i’d like it to look just right I guess.

Anyway I have deleted over and over again. It’d be nice to try a change without having to start over. Doesn’t affect game play really though so I’ll get over it

Rolling a tauren in classic bad idea anyways. Always had trouble seeing in dungeons and raids having to be backed up in a corner.

People’s styles change. People’s tastes change. I am sure you don’t have the same haircut you do now as you did when you were 5 years old, or 13 years old, whatever. I may be perfectly happy with my character for the next 3 years but I could also decide I’d like another hairstyle. It’s easy to reroll a level 10 you don’t like, but when you’ve invested a significant portion of time and effort it’s a different case.

Your’e right it doesn’t, but surely you have heard the phrase:

“Give them a inch and they will demand a mile”?

Lets not go down that rabbit hole. Lets leave Classic alone.

Nothing to do with game balance. It about the devs caving into the qol prople without regard to those against such features.

not advocating changes but you know theworst part about the classic character creator, if you delete/create over you don’t even have the same starting point because the limited options that do exist are not numbered !

It doesn’t, but if the goal is to try to recreate patch 1.12 of WoW, then it really doesn’t serve that purpose at all.

People seem to forget the point of this project and keep trying to turn it into their very own WoW fan fiction of stuff that they would add.

If they start to add things from retail, where do they stop.

We got classic because people wanted vanilla. It hasn’t even been a month and all the retail people are trying to add this and that. Go back to Retail if you want the QoL stuff. Let the people who actually wanted classic enjoy it.

I can see this too, while the barber shop is relatively benign I can certainly see the slippery slope of 85 jillion mounts and pets and the blizz shop ect.

Good point

I get the “slippery slope” argument, I honestly do. And as I have stated many times I don’t expect such things to change. I am perfectly happy with the way Classic is right now, I will happily continue to play it just as it is. But that doesn’t mean that there aren’t things I wouldn’t want added. Ultimately it is up to Blizzard where they draw the line. All we can do is give our input one way or another.

Is there a competition to see who can make the most logical fallacies in this thread or something?

FYI, in order for inches and miles to be a thing, the “patients would have to run the asylum.”
