Its SoD. We KNEW they were going to try and do different things. Maybe it will work, maybe it won’t but what is the shame of them trying? If you still want to GDKP, you will still 100% GDKP. Just like people who buy gold will still buy gold.
Acktually good idea. I can see the videos now. Stupid thumbnail with some guy crying “GDKP BANNED!! FASISTS RUN WOW” or something funny.
I’m just not sure how banning GDKPs is going to affect me at all, since I haven’t been doing them.
It really seems like wasted resources that are only affecting players who do GDKPs.
I don’t know either. I know that the issues are much deeper than GDKP’s, but them taking a stab at something isn’t a bad thing IMO.
If affects the entire world because now gold sellers have gold buyers. Without GDKP, you have less gold buyers. Less incentive to have TONS of gold to bid on things. Less people doing guild runs because GDKP could work out in your favor if you have bought gold.
I mean taking a stab at something some people feel vital to a game is a bad thing though.
If they removed trading all together to combat all RMT would you not be affected? Would you feel that particular “stab” would still not be a bad thing to try?
I just ate a 14 day suspension for buying a lot of gold.
None of which was used or going to be used in a GDKP.
RMT prices are going down because suspensions are going up, not because GDKPs are gone.
lol. and there it is.
What is Einstein?
Tell us you support and make RMT without telling us you support and make RMT.
If they balanced it out by making gold / consumables / buying no longer a mechanic … not at all.
Time to kill the goldsink and the subscription too. Sell digital horses & shiny pets - make more money than Starcraft made the company. Good enough.
As more gold is flooded into the economy and people buy more gold the prices on items go up and up even if you get a decent cut from a GDKP at the end. It’s become one of the most sweaty things in wow and glad they are trying it without.
Wah wah

But that’s just it, most people don’t find it “vital to the game” as most people don’t even raid. What we have (as with most things) is a very vocal minority. Just saying they are going to run with SSF Hardcore and that is wildly popular.
How does not wanting to carry people say I support RMT? Are you just incapable?
How does a GDKP introduce more money into the economy? There is no wealth made there?
Some do. And player agency is a huge part why alot of us came back to Classic.
This is turning into Retail fast.
Thats where you are wrong though and my point. A larger portion of the player base do not raid vs do raid. This is an experimental game mode, its something they have literally never done before. I would say its far of retail and classic.
What part of saying GDKPs are a large part for some players is wrong?
Why do they have to play the game a way that includes players they don’t necessarily want to play with? Spoiler alert, they won’t.
It’s like banning gay marriage and expecting those people to just be fine with it.
Easy.
GDKP buyer wants stuff. Buyer pulls out their Visa or Mastercard - andthey go to the China-based goldseller and buy gold.
GDKP buyer goes to the GDKP, and bids against the GDKP organizer’s bruh who needs the same gear as they do.
The shill bidder runs up the price and the buyer buys $100 worth of RMT gold for the level 20 Gloves of the Sweaty Basementdweller for that sweet minmax.
The buyer facerolls their way to a juicy green parse.
They come back next week to spend more, because they need a blue parse to look good for their autistic bois.
That doesn’t introduce any more gold to the game.
