I was randomly banned for RMT. The email claims it was carefully reviewed, but any human who actually reviewed my account activity would see that I almost never interact with the Auction House or trading with players in any way, buying or selling.
Put in an apply and have them go over it. The forums isn’t able to handle appeals, nor can the blues here remove, reduse or change an account action that the appeal team put on it. You can keep appealing until they say to stop.
I Can gaurentee there. Nothing automated 100% real person.
So for an RMT ban to occur, they would have actually been able to track illicit gold to your account. These actions are not taken based on player reports.
Common reasons we see
- Actually purchased gold
- Accepted illicit gold for a service directly such as from boosting, or through other means, it would also likely be an amount of some signifigance
- Gave gold to someone introducing it into the RMT network, this is commonly seen where someone is paying to get boosted, and where they are giving the gold not to the person doing the boosting, but to a level 1 ‘middleman’ which is designed to obfuscate the flow of gold
- Did a server to server transfer, for example giving someone gold on an ERA server for gold on an Anniversary server.
Now false positives are possible, though extremely rare. Occasionally the wrong templates go out also, thru human error. Can you confirm if your account was banned or suspended?

I don’t participate in any GDKP or group with randoms at all really. As I said, I barely interact with the AH at all, buying or selling, and I don’t give or receive gold or items either. There is quite literally 0 activity done on my account that could ever be conceived as RMTing or botting
Gonna quote myself from that thread:

The SFAs (the only Blues you will see posting) do not have any part to play in the investigations, sanctions and appeals process.
Orlyia didn’t make that change, she only relayed what had come down from the investigative team.
Please don’t mix completely different threads. That is a very different situation where a new account, did receive a large amount of gold and triggered the action. While it did turn out to be incorrect, new accounts unfortunately do get far more scrutiny.
All actions are usually unique to each account, and it’s better not to cloud things.
Feel like a broken record at this point, but when I say I have 0 activity that could possibly be construed as RMT, I mean LITERALLY 0 activity. I almost never buy or sell on the AH, I do not trade with players, aside from dungeon loot, I don’t do group farms, nothing.

Now many of these actions could be on things from weeks or even months back. My assumption was that you had appealed, and that was the original response. Perhaps provide your ticket# and one of the SFAs can provide some insight. While they can’t really affect the outcome or escalate, sometimes that can help. Also unless they have specifically advised, you can and should continue to submit appeals if you did nothing wrong.
If you haven’t appealed, then that would be the first step, as while seeing actions overturned is rare, it can and does happen.
One thing to ask, is all of your account information specifically your legal first and last name and your location correct your account?
Well my tickets are still unanswered, but my account was unbanned, so I guess this thread is no longer necessary. Thanks for everyone’s assistance.
You had two appeals open, looks like they’ve been worked.
Thank you for your diligent help in these matters.
I believe if you were banned unjustly, you can request compensation for the lost game time. They used to do that in the past, but I’m not sure if they do it now.
