Banned on an account I only use for my Timewalking Twink and Season of discovery Raid logging

Hello! I’m basically just grasping at straws at this point by posting here but I’ve run out of options.

So for some context the account that got banned said it was banned for “We have closed this game account due to exploitative activity involving unauthorized cheat programs (commonly known as hacks).” it is my wow1 account and not my main account. I’ve only used the account in the past 6ish months to gear a Timewalking Twink for the anniversary event to farm the tokens and recently came back to SoD. The only programs I have open on my PC are Discord and Opera GX and sometimes Exitlag vpn(which im assuming may have triggered something? But I’ve used it for years with no issues) when my ISP seems to throttle my WoW usage.

I was doing a ZG clear with my sod guild and my ISP did some maintenance in my area and I DC’d mid raid. So I went to sleep and woke up to an account closure for hacking… :confused: I know this sounds lame but I’ve never used any programs to play this game and just feel defeated.
I’ve opened some tickets trying to get a better understanding as to why this happened.

Has anyone had a similar issue before? Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you. :slight_smile:

All you are really able to do is put in appeals. While normally these sorts of things are not, false flags do happen time to time. So I suggest putting in the appeal, and hope for the best.

You’ll need to submit an appeal incase Blizzard made an error on their end. That is the only thing you can do.

There would be also a link within your email on how to appeal.

Just a heads up: the last thing you were doing is probably unrelated to why any action got applied.

One of the downsides of the manual human review process that blizzard has, is that things take time.

Welcome to the ban club. I still have no clue why after 2 bans on 2 different computers.

This is not an avenue to share stories concerning bans. Customer Support is a peer to peer help desk with assistances from SFAs concerning issues in the game or needing help to submit tickets.

If you need help with filing an appeal, the link was provided. Your email will tell you what your ban was for— but will never give in depth details. Otherwise, people find way around it.
