You can’t get banned for afking’ BG’s. You CAN get banned if you have a bot that moves your character around a path in the same area during a BG. Not sure where people heard the myth that you can get banned for afking in BG’s.
AFKing is an actionable offense, it can lead to being banned. Maybe not for the first offense(which the OP wasn’t) but that is up to blizzard.
Reason: Non Participation in Battlegrounds (7 day suspension)
It’s not a myth. So, if there is a five cap and you’re waiting for it to end, this is the only thing I can think of. That is why I put in a BBB complaint.
This isn’t true. They’ve banned premades using different jumps all week.
Edit: Also, if you think that just because Blizzard hasn’t fixed a certain jump, that it’s somehow okay to use… you don’t know how this company works. They’ll still ban you. You gotta be trolling if you haven’t figured this out by now.
This too, I find it amusing premades didn’t get the message blizzard doesn’t like people abusing map defects.

If I had 50 silver for every time someone said “I got banned for botting or AFKing in BGs but I wasn’t botting or AFKing!!” Or every time they brigaded their alts to the thread and said “I’m on the same server as this guy I can confirm he doesn’t bot!!” Even though the player was banned for botting and blizzard has definitive proof of their botting, I’d probably have enough gold for a dozen alts to get their epic mounts.

Not only does Blizzard specifically state this is a bannable offense but they actually enforce it too. Blizzard is very clear on this, so why say the opposite?

If blizzard didn’t reverse the suspension it was warranted, they might get an initial suspension wrong sometimes but if it holds up after review…
That only means he doesn’t bot or afk all the time.
You don’t get into a wsg premade by botting or being afk. Especially not the guys he plays with. Let’s not pretend blizzard is competent enough at supporting this game to reverse all the undeserved bans. They are literal trash at classic support I’ve had to go back and forth for weeks just to get a non automated response at times for tickets I’ve submitted
All that means is he doesn’t bot or afk while in a premade which is kind of a well duh. Doesn’t mean he wasn’t doing so while solo queuing.
If you aren’t getting responses or the responses aren’t what you like it’s probably because you submitted a junk ticket, like whining about a justified suspension.

Can you read? I’m talking about clearly automated responses that don’t even address the content of the ticket. Stop making assumptions. You know the support for this game is awful and yet you choose to defend it when it suits your point it’s pretty sad.
Just like you choose to cite blue posts when they defend your point but reject them when they don’t.
I’ve received perfectly fine support for real issues. Being suspended for a justified reason is not a valid reason to bother customer support.
