Banned for hacks

So i log on today to find my account has been permenantly banned for hacks. There is an issue seeing as i DONT use hacks. Started an appeal, to which ive heard is a lengthy process in and of itself. I had been playing SoD alot and since researching seems to more than likey be the issue with how the supposedly hand out these bans. If you reading this you probably think I actually was cheating. I however for what its worth can assure you that I have never operated cheat software of any kind let alone have it installed on my computer. Created this now banned account in TBC and never had a even a suspension. I dont understand how this is supposed to hep anything or anyone. You just attempt to log on and realize your banned and get to open a ticket based system with an average wait or 14 days.

Nobody on the forums can help you, your only recourse is to appeal via ticket. There is no-one who you can plead your case to, but you can keep appealing until you’re told no more.

Do you use your computer for work? Do you have any automation software running on it (ie, Autohotkey)?

I do use my computer for work. But i do not use anything like that.

Also despite whate you may hear back from your apeal it was handled by a real person not ai or a bot.

I just want to point this out, it is probably better to use a seperate computer for work to what you’d use at home. Sometimes, software used for work can be detected by the warden which then can messages for review to whether there is some sort of hacking/cheating or not.

But as others have mentioned, you have to wait on your ticket. Nothing further can be done here on the forums.

i guess it depends on what you need for work. For my work, the only thing I have to install is Citrix, and I’ve not had any issues with that myself. But you should always be aware of what software is on your computer. I actually previously used an autoclicker for Cookie Clicker. I didn’t need it anymore when the Steam version came out and there are workshop things with integrated auto clicking within that game itself. But I forgot and left the autoclicker on my computer for years. But it was the type that you had to start manually every time, and I never opened it when WOW was running, so I never had any issues. I did eventually get rid of it because I didn’t need it.

This type of hack email can be anything from bots to things like mouse/keyboard software with macros that add delays or repeats, or anything that alters the game client or the memory it uses in any way (including “mods” that change appearances of things).

I do think it is more better to use/have a separate computer for work. Like, each company is different, and would use different software, but Blizzard isn’t going to release a list of programs that will be detected by the Warden that can trigger suspensions, because there is nothing more than the real hackers would love is to find more information on how to get passed the Warden.

Yep, in my case is “is Citrix something that could be used to cheat in WOW?” Obviously the answer is no because it’s just remote desktop software. Which is why I just use my home gaming PC to work from. But each thing has to be evaluated individually.
