Hi everyone, I know how much you hate multiboxers in his day I also hated them,
Well yesterday I was banned from the game,
yesterday 08/06/2020 my accounts were suspended for no reason I did not breach any rule the software I use is ISBOXER from what I understand is legal, the fact is that only 7 of my 8 accounts were suspended for 6 months Apparently they forgot one where their anti-bot system is, apparently they only look at people’s reports, this is a false positive and I am not the only one there are several people who have had the same thing, I use 8 accounts all the days I played with the 8 accounts but apparently the anti-bot system only detected 7 that happened there not a gm wrote to me
Not judging or saying did / did not BOT. I don’t really care for Multi-Boxers, but understand why they do it… just not my thing.
What I will say, it is what it is. Typically these are not just solely based on reports. The reports start the review of the account actions. Having that many accounts doing the same thing all at the same time is probably a big red flag. Sort of like a shiny red sports car is a ticket magnet for cops.
Hopefully it is a short ban for you, cause I would bet it is not going to be over-turned. Sorry for the misfortune.
As kozzae mentioned the only way to get this further looked into is apealing as there not taken via forum were also not allowed to discuss account action while we can direct you to the proper venue were just not allowed to discuss account actions.
If it is a false positive, the appeal will come to the same conclusion.
Actually, Blizzard doesn’t support or “approve” ISboxer or any other multiboxing software. Also, they don’t contact you ahead of time to discuss any impending actions. They simply take action when their logs show that someone is/has been breaking the rules.
Yes, false positives can happen and that’s why there’s an appeals process.
No, actually it’s not. Multiboxing is allowed, though unsupported. As long as the player is there at the keyboard and every key press corresponds to a single in-game action per account, then multiboxing is fine.
And worst of all is that they forgot to ban an account? This has no logic, the 8 accounts were supposed to be banned.
Perl, didn’t say it wasn’t allowed. Merely that someone operating 5, 6, 7, or even 8 accounts as stated in this instance… is likely to attract attention of other players that will be more likely to report for what “They Feel” is not allowed. This is that red flag moment when now the Mboxer is likely on the radar for someone to review and see if there was something done against ToS.
Again, nothing against Mboxers… just not my thing. I am probably too old to be able to move more than two characters at once anyways
Pegman, is it possible that this is the main controlling / lead toon that didn’t show or give the perception of BOT’like actions? Not sure, never done it before, just trying to think why one would get away unscathed.
Every day people passed by me insulting and reporting even this Monday he wrote me a gm personally and he told me if he had a minute and I answered him right away, /
If he simply asked me, do you have a minute? I answered him clearly yes and he told me what the problem is. I told him that people go around insulting me and reporting to me every time they pass me by, he answered me, nothing happens as long as you do nothing wrong.
What exactly are “BOT’like actions”? There are plenty of people who falsely report multiboxers as botter unfortunately. Since Blizz employees know that multiboxing isn’t against the rules, it would likely be the first thing that they look for.
Thankfully, Blizz is able to watch for the difference between multiboxing accounts versus people who are running botting software.
o.O That’s super suspicious. GMs won’t message you in an attempt to confirm if you’re a multiboxer or botting. That sounds more like a phishing attempt. Someone pretending to be a GM.
Did it pop up in a separate chat box with blue text and the symbol next to their chat?
was not a main character my main account was banned it was a secondary account
Only people who hate multiboxers are ones who fail to understand how they don’t actually confer any unfair advantage.
Blizzard doesn’t ban because “it looked like a bot” (in any capacity a player could see), they ban if their logs and investigation appear to indicate the presence of unauthorized third-party software. They are human though, so they can make mistakes. Thus the appeal system, which is your only recourse. If you’ve genuinely done nothing wrong, the appeal will revert it.
The way to get this reviewed is through an appeal.
Just a reminder. Multiboxing is allowed - it is not supported.
Botting is strictly verboten.
Very different things, but that also doesn’t mean a multiboxer couldn’t also be botting - or using shortcuts that count as botting. Most don’t put that kind of investment at risk - but some do.
Never use anything that can produce actions with one key press that can’t also be done through the in-game systems. Be it software or hardware. Just because say a mouse CAN do something, doesn’t mean you should.
I’ve not looked into this, a GM will need to do that - but if a multiboxer truly runs afoul of the rules, that is often what has happened. This is more of a FYI.
Open an appeal and have this reviewed. False positives are rare, but they of course can happen. That is why we have an appeals process
Let’s see, I had barely been playing for a month since I left it, I am not a hacker and apparently blizzard does not have an anti-bot system, because I say so because I noticed something strange a few days ago, like a gm teleported me to a remote place of the other characters is that legal?
And if I appeal, surely an automatic system answers me, I’ll try /
I’m also going to demand tests and why if their anti-bot system is the best because they forgot to ban an account which I used for multiboxing that doesn’t make any sense, I’m even going to ask to be banned
A form letter is not an automatic system. The punishment and all appeals are addressed by real people.
They certainly do. They’ve been banning botters by the thousands.
Why would a GM do that? To what end would they randomly pick a player and then teleport them somewhere? There is a backlog of tickets from players with actual issues that they’re trying to tackle. They don’t have the time to randomly pick a player to teleport for no reason.
o.O How would that help you?
You’re really best to stick to an actual appeal. Ask that it be looked into again. They’re not going to entertain any other requests beyond that.
I’m telling you really, that’s what happened to me, 3 characters teleported me to a different site and I immediately said wtf in the chat and immediately all the banned accounts except one / it has happened to me several times and on Monday it was something strange I had just reported to a person for insulting me and minutes later one of my characters teleported to a place not so far from the others and right away he wrote me a gm if he had a minute and I answered him clearly yes
It could be that the GM moved your characters to a safe place before suspending the account. So when you are able to log back in with them again, there won’t be any hiccups or dead characters with repair bills.
I agree Ravenhawk. It was more likely that they were moving your characters to a safe place.
It wasn’t something random like it sounded like before.
Unfortunately Pegman, you’ll need to wait on your appeal.
