Sorry my main account just got banned for 7 days, I’ve only been silenced once before.

I’m on new hardcore classic server and I genuinely think I got banned because my name and people are offended by it… I had the name “Cancer” accidentally logged in with incorrect looks so now named: Cancer with a special e.

I haven’t abused anybody, a bunch of warlocks were selling over priced summons and I was under cutting them… so 100% believe that they reported me.

Is there an eta on appeal times right now with fresh server hoping it’s quick as 100% believe i’ve been reported by just other people trying to sell summons… And if it was my name which I’ve seen used before why can’t it just be flagged as inappropriate like I’ve seen for others.

A language suspension would not have anything to do with your inappropriate name, though I would recommend self-reporting that name too.

Language would have been in some sort of chat.

Selling stuff on the AH or summons also wouldn’t land you in any trouble even with a whole bunch of reports.

Yeah that’s why I’m thinking it was erroneous not genuine reports.

It happens, and if the name was problematic, I’ve seen it used on other servers happy to pay for a name change.

Haven’t done anything at all abusive so really hoping to get an ETA on GM review of my ban so I can at least know what I did if I did anything etc.

Erroneous reports wouldn’t lead to any account action whatsoever.

I don’t think I’ve seen an ETA recently. You’ll just need to wait on the appeal.

Yeah, that’s still not a thing. Even that streamer knows it.

You cannot and are not banned for mass reports. Otherwise, why are there still bots and hackers? Why are there any active accounts whatsoever?

It’s a ridiculous belief. Thankfully, we know it’s not true.

Additionally, 7 days suspension IS the 2nd step if you have had a silence before. It is now 1 week silence for first offense, 1 week suspension for 2nd offense (assuming they aren’t egregious enough to go immediately higher).

You’re disagreeing with Blizzard saying it doesn’t happen.

So yes, you’re welcome to believe some streamer over the software developer.

This is a great example of why these threads are against the rules too. Wait on your appeal.

Yeah that’s why I mention my silence, the silence was 100% deserved.

Bunch of mates and I went WELL over the top drinking one weekend and bg’ing in retail and just yeah. Took that one no problem as was deserved. When it happened knew immediately what triggered it.

But lets try remain on topic, really hoping somebody can swoop in with an ETA or review / reply from appeal authority etc.

If by “happened to him” you mean he had a bunch of people report him to trigger a squelch (which is NOT a suspension or ban, just a temporary chat squelch until it’s manually reviewed), then later got suspended for deliberately abusing the reporting system and then lied about it…yeah.

Also, noone on the forums handles appeals. The most the SFA’s can do is sometimes clarify where existing appeal tickets are in the process.

You may be thinking of a squelch, which could happen given enough reports, but that’s a lot of reports. You’re either doing something wrong or a large online personality ‘testing’ said ‘autobans’.

I believe a squelch lasts an hour. Squelches can last up to 24 hours. It’s to silence any possible wrongdoing given an investigation.

As it is, you wouldn’t just be up and actioned if you didn’t do anything. It doesn’t have to be related to what you were doing at this particular moment in time: It can be quite some while ago.

As it stands, all you can do is wait for a reply to the appeal ticket. Keep in mind you can continue to appeal until, in no uncertain terms, you are told they will not be looked at anymore.

Up to 24 hours, last we were informed. One hour stymie would be a pittance to spammers.

lets just remain on topic, I don’t really care about any of that stuff really, but do believe alot of companies are infusing AI with their customer service due to longer wait times, I’ve literally been doing it as I’m a machine learning engineer as know businsesses are lets just drop that part of the conversation and say I agree with you all and move on …

I just really want an eta around support, I genuinely am beyond curious what triggered it then if I did anything wrong as the email doesn’t provide any information. Got serious FOMO with my entire guild being shocked I’m banned now.

One would think nearly-instantaneous thought by machines would mean less wait time, not more.

Google’s AI Overview rarely takes more than five seconds, for example.

Have you been swearing, even if undirected? Insulting or belittling others, even without swearing? Saying the same or similar messages frequently in a channel, or posting outside the channel’s intended subjects?

You can believe whatever you like, the appeal process is the same for everyone.

It can take a few days for appeals to be looked at. No one, not even a Customer Service Rep, can give you an ironclad answer.

One of the blues may chime in tomorrow, though I suspect they are home for the evening. In general, any swearing, including misspelled, can get you in trouble. You can also get in trouble for being rude/insulting your fellow players. The appeal process can take a few days, and it can take time for them to review the initial reports to action the account as well, no guarantee that it was something you were actively doing.

Edit: Nevermind, they aren’t home yet.

Anyway, this isn’t a ban - it’s a suspension and it’s for advertising in LFG.

Happy to discuss in private via the ticket. Heaps of people are spamming LFG ? I was told LFG isn’t a chat restricted channel due to LFG group finder and LFG is just a channel being used ? I’ve come from Skull Rock and everybody uses LFG to sell services etc.

Could this be more of a warning coming from Skull Rock if LFG has now a rule-set attached ?

Pardon me ( this is my second account skull rock didn’t have instant transfers etc so needed it for banks etc ). My other account cannot access the forum as been silenced and thought I was banned onerously, but if it’s due to that can I please just get a warning, Skull Rock never had an issue selling summons to Booty Bay etc for world buffs.
