hey guys, I have played this game since WoTLK & had multiple accounts added to my 1 main account in which my brothers have played. My other 2 accounts just run out of subscriptions in which I have re-subbed on. My brothers 2 accounts instead of subscription expired say “Account Banned”. We were hoping to log back into old account and get ready to play The War Within. Is there a way I can see why there were banned as they havent played for nearly 10 or so years. Is it worth putting a ticket in for it.

You (your brother?) should have received an email elaborating the reason behind the sanction.
But just by what you’ve typed out up there, these account(s) are guilty of account sharing, which is a bannable offense. The ONLY time that an account can be shared is between a parent/legal guardian and a single minor child. You and your brother(s) should have each had individual Battle.net accounts and neither of you should ever be on the other’s account.
The owner of the account that was sanctioned, only they can put in the appeal. It’s always worth a shot, but you should go in with low expectations since you’ve already admitted to the account sharing.

Always has been this way since Day 1, and there is no way to unlink them at all.

And no, there isn’t a way to break the game licenses off of your account. Years ago the could do this, but with how collections and everything are all locked to the originating Battle.net account, and things that are account-wide, they stopped the practice.
I’m sorry it’s not the answers you were hoping to find here. But you can certainly still appeal. At worst, they will keep it upheld and you’re no worse off than you are now, but you’ve also got the chance that perhaps the account closure might be lessened to an extended suspension. Stranger things have happened!

Forgive my curiosity, but would it be less likely that he got dinged for account sharing with a family member 10ish years ago (possibly when they were both living with parents and using 1 pc) and possible that the account may have been compromised/hacked a long time ago and then banned?
I dunno, just thinking out loud. I don’t know how they detect account sharing (similar to how Netflix detects it maybe?) or if it’s by report only, nor do I know how seriously they take it.

I suppose that’s possible. It would definitely be much harder to detect account sharing when two people live in the same location and use the same computer. Not impossible though.
Possible yes but not easy and unless they are alerted to it. Well it would never red flag.
Example a old friend and his wife i know since 2006 often share accounts back and forth. Since they do so from the same location nothing has ever happened. Against the rules yes.
Reports can be from days weeks or months.
Look im gona be blunt hijacking a thread for personal attention is never a good idea you got your answer the first time and should’ve left it that and kept appealing your not gona get a one on one conversation with a gm orlyia not a gm she can look at what caused it but cant affect the outcome.

You said you were doing these activities as recently as today. You probably got banned for these activities that you were doing as recently as today, though only a blue post can confirm this. Or the message sent when you were banned.

You’ve admitted to behaviors that are prohibited. That aside, when you are banned you are given a reason, usually a category stating the reason.

I made specifically sure not to swear, not to offend anyone, nor be vulgar, and I kept politics out of my mouth and I still got banned.
I genuinely do not understand what im saying to get me banned!
