Bandage Bugs and First Aid Return

Currently the bandages that were formally used for the First Aid profession have been relegated to Tailoring - sadly though their math is completely broken. A standard mageweave bandage heals for more than a heavy one, or for that matter, more than a forstweave one. If you look at them based on cloth quality, the numbers are completely off. What are we paying for when we buy the upgrade? A crappier bandage? How this make any logical sense? Who green lit something this fundamentally broken?

Solution: Bring back First Aid and make it so that standard bandages heal you for 20% health over 8 seconds (2.5 per second), and heavy bandages heal you for 40% (5% per second). This effectiveness would drop when you level past a certain point, demanding that you get higher quality cloth to maintain the effect.

Simple solution.

I’d also suggest the return of anti-venoms, and perhaps add stiches to seal deep bleeding wounds, and maybe even a stim pack just for fun. Get creative with it. Make professions fun and tactically viable again.

they wont do this

And? Why bother commenting without any additional thoughts or backup to what you’re saying. Why wouldn’t they do this when it’s clearly common sense that they should?

they removed it in legion for a few reasons, that I cant remember and I’m not going to look up. there is a title/achievement locked to the removal of first aid and it was very much announced that first aid/title/and achievement wont be returning.

So? They made a mistake. Now they can fix it by bringing it back. The removal of First Aid was sheer laziness and there was no practical reason. It was a product of cutting corners, not making the game better. To the contrary, it took something away from the game. Why bother even putting it tailoring?? Especially when they didn’t even take the time to do it right lol. It was a stupid thing to do.

idk, how should i know?

it was a dead profession. no one uses bandages anymore

to you maybe. to me, I don’t think it was a mistake

they wont, for reasons stated above

Exactly. Even they don’t know. It wasn’t thought out or executed properly. They didn’t even get the math right.

Everyone used it. Anyone with sense. It was a great survival tool.

It’s not a matter of opinion. Removing First Aid took out a viable survival tool for many classes. Professions where a huge part of what made the game fun for the majority of fans. Why do you think so many people complain about WoW being too dumbed down now? Stuff like this.

Professions added dimension to the classes, and in some cases compensated for weaknesses.

What reasons? Lol. “The think I don’t remember and I’m not gonna look it up” :face_with_monocle:

thats a you issue, i’m not repeating myself.

that is false, lol

No it’s your issue haha. You didn’t have reasons, you just sorta parroted theirs but couldn’t remember what they said

Proof? I know for a fact it was excellent, especially in Classic against rogues. It’d be even better if they corrected the math to percentage based healing like I described. At this point you’re just being a contrarian.

i stated my reasons. you didn’t read. thats not my problem.

then go play classic. no one used it in retail

No you didn’t. You yourself had no reasons. Semi-repeating things that blizzard said isn’t your opinion or a good reason not to bring the profession back, it’s just parroting. Regardless, professions need some serious work.

Of course they don’t, because it’s totally broken like I just described. That’s exactly why I’m suggesting a fix for it. That’s a silly thing to say.

i said there was titles/achivements tied to it being removed. you clearly didnt read.

I did read it, and it’s just as invalid an argument as it was before. What does some dumb achievement have to do with bringing First Aid back in a new and improved format?

This reminds me of those movie critics on YouTube who just recite the movie and say it sucks without offering any independent thought as to why. Think for a second and come up with an actual legit reason for not bringing first aid back, THEN talk. Right now you’re just parroting. :parrot:

yeah im done. you’re probably a troll and this is wasting my time.

because people leveled it for the nerd points, then never touched it again.

we simply did not use it.

You’re done because you can’t think for yourself. :sheep: The forums are for expressing your thoughts. Come back when you have some.

Not true at all, and that still has nothing to do with making a new system. What I just described is a way to make them viable.

I just told you a system that makes them viable, so how about you practice what you preach and read.

oh yeah youre def a troll LOL

I get that you see the game as some alternate reality in which people used first aid, but… that’s not what actually happened.

That aside, If they were to bring it back, they’re going to have to design encounters around people using them. then everyone is going to be obligated to level first and and keep stacks of stuff on hand.

I’ll pass on that. Both on a personal level, and on a " I don’t want to have to chase after my raiders for yet another consumable they have to use" level.

no thanks.

They SHOULD bring First Aid back. Why the hell do I have to be a tailor to make bandages? I don’t want to buy them and should be able to make them on my own from what I loot.

What a dumb change.
