Double dps 2s is very fun, SL s3 was an easy 2100 early push as feral/spriest. Historically its how I played 2s, like enh/feral in WoD for arena master. Ret/feral in cata for hotter streak.
There is a huge difference in having two less than ideal dps paired with a less than ideal healer in a random situation vs. trying to randomize multiple dps specs together with no healer.
Yeah, just not in uncoordinated and/or low mmr.
Its solo shuffle, poor matchups is the nature of it. I remember in SL s3 getting a solo shuffle with 3 hunters as a necro feral the first time I tried a solo shuffle as that feral build. Never queued it again as necro feral.
I almost exclusively did double dps 2s with equally skilled players. Cata was ret/feral with my buddy sitting next to me, WoD was an IRL friend who was actually higher xp as enh/feral.
SL s3 early was feral/spriest as either necro or nightfae. Later in the season is where I did guardian/affy then carried that tank build into 3s.
As a tank player, you enter the match knowing that you are getting pooled with people who donât know that they are entering a tank shuffle, and half of the specs are just flat out not built to work in your pseudobracket. The point is that so many of these specific matchups are going to be so bad that the tank players themselves are basically just win trading toss-up matches while matchmade with dps players who have to climb the rest of their matches in the 95% rest of the meta. The formatting is a huge problem regardless of if you like playing the tank matches or not.
I agree that tank/dps/dps solo shuffle is probably miserable unless the tank build is functionally a healer. Preventing that in entirety is likely not healthy for the game overall though, especially with the variety of builds from the new talent system.
Preventing that in entirety is as simple as changing the formatting rules to healer/dps/dps or healer/tank/dps. Not having pseudobrackets where specific specs get to ignore the majority of the meta is way healthier than having them.
Dunno about that my guy
40 min q every single time
Itâs not even a realistic scenario because I donât think Iâve had a shuffle queue over 12 minutes and itâs not even ranked with fixed gear. Tanks arenât some boon to queues.
Iâm disappointed to see this coming from community council tbh. Disallowing tanks is obviously not a palatable solution, but there are glaring holes in the formatting rules. The games are super not fun for a host of classes/specs that donât work well without healers, and iâm sure theyâre more fun for the more self-sufficient ones. The variability that you introduce with that situation in terms of balance is a lot higher than when everyone gets a healer, randomly paired or not. Add into that the fact that the tank players are the only ones who actually know theyâre queueing into a tank shuffle, where the majority of the meta is filtered out for them and the platform completely changes unexpectedly for the players that queue into them. I donât mean to be rude to you or anything, but you get to post on the special forum that gets listened to.
Its almost as if WoWâs pvp isnât that flexible in its design.
Remember with something like WoW, thereâs no counter picking, no banning specs, no adjusting to playstyles (maybe with talent variety this might work). Compared to modern complex pvp games, taking OW2 as an example, you can be screwed from the start.
Its like locking in that one hero for OW2 competitive and being unable to swap. Hopefully the talent system allows for enough flexibility where a warrior can run a self healing build as an example.
This is more so on blizzard and their lack of design for how each role works in pvp. Blizzard really needs to take the time and flesh out what it means to play each role specifically. Then after that is done dive further into how each class/spec fits into that role.
They honestly should just remove Arena. Itâs the smallest aspect of PvP and most PvP players donât do it. If Arena was removed tomorrow 90% of PvPers wouldnât care.
Iâd like them to focus on BGs and WPvP which is the heart and soul of PvP in WoW. Then this toxic debate on who is allowed in Arena can end.
Arena is a tiny mini game, just be happy you have it and Tanks can Que for it.
I queue tank because I hate dealing with healers in arena that make the game last 15 minutes.
Banning tanks is not the solution. If there is a class balance or a mode format issue then it should be fixed but banning a portion of the player base is a ridiculous suggestion.
These are really good points they def need to add something to balance it out besides just removal. The unbalance certainly exists and they should work towards fixing it
Not allowed, youâre not allowed to play the game in a way you enjoy.
There are rules against RMT, not playing tank specializations.
