also misinformation the cords it gives off are the cords of the spy user when they detected player ie the same cords that at the bottom of thier minimap

Ahh ok. I saw coords for something when someone was using it…figured it was for enemy. Whoops. Makes sense now.
I wasn’t complaining about dying I gave a reason for why I use the SPY addon. Now I don’t have any reason to complain cause I can counter rogues, until I get my PvP trinket.
mmhm its honestly a really small mod its not doing anything impressive outside of making a audio ping when a player set off your combat log. its also why the anti spy crowd does not have a leg to stand on.

I can pop my heals, natures grasp and go bear. This gives me a chance to counter. Yes good rogues will still win, but the majority of rogues are terrible and whine a lot.

ehh the majority of rogues are decent its just the bad ones that are so vocal. like i said its not like you can see a rogue once its stealth despite what the anti spy people want to you to think. hell even if you dont use spy you can get the same effect by right clicking on your combat log and making a new filter, then checking the enemy player box.

dags it really doesn’t affect pvp and even before spy became so widespread pvper were just making new filters for their combat log and getting the same effect as what the addon does.

Yet people are mainly complaining about the “pvp” nature of it. But i get what you are saying. If you need this addon…you may as well go on a pve server. Just tells me people are afraid of getting jumped when its part of the game.
sigh because the people that are complaining about it are bad at pvp. they are looking for any excuse as to why they are bad because to them it can’t be their fault. if they lose it has to be because the other person is cheating.

It seems clear that Blizz could fix this just by making it so that the combat log can’t see enemy player actions from outside visual range of the enemy player, and I see no good reason for them not to do this.
Spy would still be useful in that it would tell the whole zone about any rogues you saw go into stealth. It wouldn’t tell the whole zone about a rogue who went into stealth 150 yards away.
If there is any evidence that the combat log was intended to be used to track enemy players from well outside in-game detection range that would be different, but I very much doubt it. I suspect it’s range is so long to allow you to do things like track all actions during a raid boss fight. Turns out that has the side effect of making it stupidly overpowered in PvP. Nerf it.
Issues like it telling you about players who are hiding behind trees, etc might be more complicated because I am not sure Blizz has a simple way of knowing who’s behind a tree from who. But cutting down the range would get you most of the way there.

Not sure why you are sighing. Not disagreeing with you. I say let people use it, if they need it. The ones who are good at pvp will overcome w/e. The ones who suck will die regardless. No ones “cheating”.
what i’m saying is its not even a crouch its just a refinement of tools like dbm or recount. if this addon did not exist hardcore pvp’s myself in included would just detach our combat and set up the filter.
