Ban RestedXP

lmao parts of add-ons are in fact add-ons. Charging for them is obviously against the rules. The mental gymnastics are wild here. Like, I get that you use and like RXP. But wow. Be just a little bit honest here.

This is a low energy thinking from a someone with the brain of a potato. You watch to see if someone is typing and then stops and then types more and you connect dots (that are not there) they are trying to figure out how to get out of something they say.

No it doesn’t. It just makes their ToS inconsistent and difficult for the community to follow. No one knows who they’ll decide can sell or not sell services in addons.

Yep, sounds like an Aovona post lmao.

The deal is they arent going to do anything because right now its just their boys that they hang out in some dev discord with. What is going to happen eventually is all addons will be behind a paywall. Why not? Because if you can get 25 bucks a month for something like that SoD parse addon… why wouldn’t Elvui be thinking about it? Just come up with some cleaver you get a shell of it for free but have to buy all the databases that make it so you dont have to code lua.

When will it end? When it boils down to Blizzard having to put their labor and time into making a better UI because addons dont carry it for them. That means they will have to invest in it instead of just watching their chosen few get paid. Then this will VERY quickly become a TOS lock down. Sadly, they probably punish people using the paid addons and just slap their boys on the wrists. But hey… it comes to an end then… until then this will just keep getting worse and worse. All WAs, all addons, all everything will slowly move to a pay wall.

Sure. Invent a conspiracy when you don’t have any facts to go on.

Bottom line. Blizzard are fine with RestedXP, Zygor and the others. I have seen them stand on another addon called Carbonite some years ago because it was 100% payware.

Blizzard’s game. Blizzard’s rules. They can allow or disallow whatever they like. That’s the bottom line. All the whinging in the world will not change their policy.

That is all.

Re-Read the ToS the addon is free , the data for each guide costs money. If your in a position to buy the Data string for each leveling guide then congrats but the addon is free

Amazing! I have never used that addon, but it announces in Global Chat all the time, which for me is more of a bother than the fact that it’s a paid addon - Is there an addon to mute RestedXP?

Wrong. Its free.

Wrong. Its a guide.

Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. It is enforced.

You’re welcome!

LOL, silly

Their game, their rules. The more you come to terms with this in your potato head, the better off you are going to be!

I think the problem isnt their game their rules. More its against the rules and they dont do anything about it. Which doesnt mean its not against the rules it just means its not enforced. If they want to not have it be against the rules I am sure it takes 30 seconds to highlight that bit, push delete, and move on.

I would not disagree. They are welcome to enforce every rule or not as they seem fit. What some of these folks forget in life is: They want Blizzard to bring down the hammer and uphold every single rule, but the first time an officer pulls them over for 1mph over the speed limit (rule) they are all indignant and the officer should be enforcing other rules not this one (because it effects them).

Some of these folks lead sad sad lives to be so hung up on something silly about paid for or not paid for addons to a video game.

And I miss down vote options on the forums and think they should return.

Selling WoW guides isn’t against the ToS is it? People have been selling Gold guides for decades. There are WoW Gold making channels that rely on selling Gold guides. Content creators gotta make a living and pay for overhead.

Well considering that Blizzard hasn’t done anything about it I assume they’re fine with it.

Yeah there’s a few people that make a living off of selling their guides etc.

Re-read the ToS. It specifically says charging for services in addons is against ToS.

Which, yea, means things like zygor and rested break tos, but zygor and dugi have been around so long i really dont think blizz cares.

Weakauras and leveling addons seem to be the only ones doung it (wa mostly through subs to creators)

Their policy is posted in this thread and selling add-ons and services related to them clearly breaks it lol
