Ban RestedXP

Wow-pro guides is free and does literally the same thing. I laugh at those who pay for restedxp addon lol

You can get RestedXP for free too, paying for a leveling guide is honestly funny.

A “guide” is a service in the addon, yes? and that service is paid, yes?

Thread is full of false information. About Rested XP and about RDF which that person randomly began talking about.

It doesn’t break ToS to give out an accurate leveling guide that helps people. This is yet another thread created only to spread misinformation. I don’t use it. Other people do. Don’t ban it just cuz you don’t use it. Its a guide. People make guides. Therefore, it can be done by people. If you people were trying to defend keeping Glider in game, then yes ban that every time any new version of that comes around. AH version of it and the BG versions of it. This though? No need for a ban just because you dont understand it.

You’re paying for the guide part, always been allowed to do that. And only if you choose to. The addon part you do not pay for.

I’m going to assume you’re not adressing me in this reply, I’ve stated that it’s not against ToS and I agree with you. If RestedXP, Zygor, BillisOnyxia, Fojji, etc. were against ToS then Blizzard would’ve acted on it. With them not doing anything clearly means that it’s fine to do.

or that the RestedXP people have a working relationship with Blizz and they just don’t enforce the ToS.

Then explain BillisOnyxia, Zygor and Fojji.

Do they offer paid services in their addons?

(watching you type, stop, type, to figure out a way to weasel around admitting they are paid services in addons is kinda hilarious)

Zygors is an alternative to RestedXP, is paid for on their website.

BillisOnyxia sells their TSM profiles at a price on Patreon

Fojji sells their Weakauras (raid packs and potentially class packs now) on their Patreon.

So they ARE paid services in an addon!

That’s against ToS! Blizz just is not enforcing it.

Thank you for attending my Ted Talk.

Yes and Blizzard doesn’t do anything meaning it’s fine to do.

The debate is whether they are breaking ToS, not “will Blizz do anything” as this thread is trying to compel Blizz to do something because it is a ToS violation.

Thanks for finally admitting it is a ToS violation though, now let’s get back on topic of compelling Blizz to enforce their ToS equally!

Anyone can make the weakaura/tsm profile and they’re not the makers/devs of WA/TSM.

Anyone can grow corn too, but some people sell it and others buy it. Glad we understand how basic economies work.

But since you’ve admitted they are breaking ToS, how about we compel Blizz to stop selectively enforcing that ToS? Hmmm?

Are we still playing these semantic games? Selling weakauras is obviously against the rules that I posted. Like, it’s not even a debate. Blizz just doesn’t enforce their own policy. It’s that simple.

All add-ons must be free of charge. Selling add-ons, premium versions of add-ons, and services related to an add-on, that’s all prohibited. Advertising to sell stuff in add-ons is also prohibited. I don’t see how any serious person can argue that selling addon profiles is not a violation of those rules.

I was really into working on addons back in the days but never understood how restedxp bypass the rule. Even if you copy how they sell it blzzard bans the addon, so I assume they know someone that works at blizzard and really good friend’s

And their lack of enforcement makes doing it fine.

And the addon is free of charge, it’s not a premium version and the addon functions without it.

TSM profiles and weakauras are add-ons. Selling them is clearly prohibited. You can dance around it all you want.

You’re welcome to that opinion. I think they should change their policy if it’s actually fine. But the poster above has indicated otherwise.

TSM profiles aren’t addons, TSM is an addon the profiles aren’t.

Same for Weakauras, the weakaura themselves aren’t the addon.
