Ban M+ Key Loggers

Please ban people who log offline in the middle of a key. Dumb loophole to use.

At the rate people are asking for ban x in m+ may as well go the whole hog and ban anyone forming m+ groups

Just report and move on

It’s not a loophole.
Folks who leave in the middle of a key at an excessive rate will still be punished.

The people who were banned were players who were purposefully ruining keys with the malicious intent of doing so.

Beyond that we have threads on for an example Reddit where they outline that the people who were banned are people who have left hundreds of runs … just to ruin the dungeon. There’s worlds apart in terms of folks who just left the group for a reason, and those who left for no other reason than to purposefully grief the team.

DC:ing in the middle of a M+ doesn’t change this, but it is worth noting that folks who leave in the middle of a key won’t be punished either unless it is done in excess and with the clear intent to grief the key.

So whether folks leave or DC have no bearing on it, other factors matter.

This isn’t even worth doing unless it was done with the intention to grief the key. Which leaving or dc:ing on its own isn’t enough.

It is a better option than to propagate this narrative that somehow DC:ing somehow is a loophole, but … it is griefing in particular that is the reportable offense. Which is an important aspect to remember.

Ban them. Ban us all. Ban the internet!

Ban the players who drive others to log off and walk away, those are the ones negatively impacting engagement metrics.

If a lot of people are quitting your keys then YOU are the one affecting Blizz’ bottom line.

yes i know, but we won’t be able to tell their history or if it was worthy of a ban to begin with so all you can do is report them and move on and let blizz deal with it.

op is a literal troll hes just trying to drum up some drama dont take it that seriously

If this is happening to you so often that you felt a need to create an entire thread, have you considered who is the problem? This so rarely happens in the keys I run.

I crashed in the middle of a key once came back and someone left. The key bricked.

I felt bad ._.

How do you know their internet didn’t go out?

You guys are making mythic groups VERY unappealing especially since it is NOT EVEN REQUIRED. Mythic dungeons are an OPTION!

Well, report em and hope they get banned for their obvious toxic behavior.

It isn’t, though. Anybody spam leaving is subject to action.

Although like 99.9% of people aren’t gonna get banned because leaving a doomed key isn’t against the rules.

Here here, and we start with the Gnomes and Vulpera. We’ll see how it goes after that.

You mean who logs off?

Purposely logging out is the same as purposely leaving. You still leaving one way or the other. You are ruining a key by closing out the game and disconnecting yourself. So you are leaving without leaving the dungeon.

I’m seeing this behavior in Timewalking too where people are just logging out during a dungeon.

Which isn’t a problem unless you’re joining keys with the intention of leaving them.

What about logging out with the intent of breaking keys? Same form of grief.

from the title I thought this was about the spyware that logs keystrokes to steal passwords.
