Ban Appeal

I understand you might be frustrated, but that is not true at all. There is a portion of the social offense system that IS automated (and always has been), but not the Silences and Suspensions.

  • Over a decade ago Blizzard put in a system that will SQUELCH an account pending GM review. This automatic action was designed to stop gold spammers and their ilk until a GM could clean it up. It takes a lot of reports from unique accounts (not alts) in a short time to trigger it. A popular streamer proved that the system does, indeed exist. They also proved that having your followers falsely report you gets you a Suspension for abusing the reporting system.
  • There is now a Warning system that can be triggered by multiple unique reports in a short time. The system will automatically send a warning that you were reported. This is to help people stop whatever they are doing before it escalates to the GM level. You can read about that here https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/301103

All actual account actions like a Silence, Suspension, or Account closure for language are applied by a GM after reviewing the chat logs attached to the report. If someone feels a mistake was made, they can appeal.

The cool thing about the right click report system? It captures the name, server, time, chat channel and related chat logs so it is very easy to review.

It tends to work out like this thread though - where the chat logs do indeed show that the person broke the game rules and the account action was valid.

Coming here to spread misinformation and try to argue with the people who work there (Blues) won’t work out in your favor. You won’t “prove” anything because you are simply misinformed.
