Balancing the Vote-Kick Penalty: A Call for Change

If the penalty for people who get vote kicked was reduced to 15 minutes instead of 30, would you be against that?

I’m ok being a “vocal minority” and keeping it as it is.

LMAO…clearly you upset the kiddies in here lol

get rid of the timeout ENTIRELY.
it serves no valid purpose.
Trolls will just alt hop and get around it and ride the timer out.

The ONLY players it bothers is the legit ones who were actually trying to play the game and got kicked by petulant children for no good reason

and ONLY someone who IS doing just that would take offense at the comment

I’ll ask you the same question. If the penalty for people who get vote kicked was reduced to 15 minutes instead of 30, would you be against that and why?

I’m fine with how it is, I don’t think anymore time or resources needs to used on this. The system is fine as is, in my opinion.

It isn’t a case or for or against, I’m Ok with how it is now.

If it changes, so be it. I’m not worried either way.

Except if it’s that much a problem, your escalation would make it worst.

Unless the timer was reduced to 15 minutes for vote kicks, or if they both started at 15 minutes and then progress to 30 minutes (where it capped, being like it is now).

My bro, is 30 min, go out for a walk, a 30 min walk is a great low impact cardio exercise for anyone that can manage it.

I set time aside away from WoW to do that sort of stuff. Tomorrow on my walk I’ll continue to think about how to make the penalty system fairer. Multitasking for the win.

Finally, something to fast-track the SL campaign fix

I was recently kicked from a TW dungeon just as we were about to kill the last boss, (robbing me of completing the dungeon for the achieve) and I received the penalty for it. A little hard not to see that as trolling.
What really gets me, is you get no message that explains why you were kicked, and there’s no way to challenge that reason to have at least the penalty removed.
If players could be reported for abusing the ability to kick player’s from parties then they might not be so cavalier about it.

And no way to learn from some mistake you are unknowingly making and repeatedly getting kicked for.

Unfortunately, Blizzard has given players the authority to kick others for no reason, which is why it gets abused the way it does. Many of us experience the same trollish behavior, and that’s why we’re discussing solutions.

It takes a vote. Literally the majority of the party didn’t want you around lol.

Instead of trying to get players accounts actioned for using a game feature the way it was meant to be used, try sitting down with yourself and figuring out what you did to cause the other 3 or 4 people in your group to want you out of the group.

Most of the times it should be pretty easy to figure out.

Yeah, it’s pretty BS that Blizzard’s stance is that people can votekick for literally any reason they want no problem including just cuz they feel like it, but also put a 30 min penalty on the action.

You can literally be locked out of queueuing just cuz a group thinks you have bad vibes or they want to replace with a friend halfway through.

Not something you can actually do but don’t let that stop you

That doesn’t negate my overall point.

For 30min. Not the world’s steepest penalty.

A question to be asked here about what is being exaggerated, and if the penalty is actually anything to be concerned about.
