Blizz, it’s time to discuss the pink elephant in the room here. It’s time to nerf both priests & hunters alike. They are far too overpowered. Namely, priests whom for some reason can spam dispel magic without any detrimental mana cost, can break bubbles & ice block, and don’t get me started on mind games which was hell during Shadowlands, and continues to be the devil’s greatest work in Dragonflight. Now, I realize that many may enjoy most of those abilities in question.
I’m not even suggesting you guys remove them. I would however, like dispel magic & Shaman’s purge to cost more mana so they may not spam it. Much like mages with spell steal. Granted spell steal is more powerful given you can apply the desired buff unto yourself as a mage, but for both frost & fire it’s costly to cast. As it very well should be. Arcane is fine given they only have 1 school of magic to draw upon.
As for hunters, I can’t say I have a definitive answer to remedy their broken abilities. Maybe if turtle shell were removed, and they were more like glass canons that could even the playing field perhaps, but as I write that I don’t feel particularly okay with the measure. Maybe damage reduction? I don’t know. All I can say is that due to their known nature’s most of the community only plays priest and/or hunter.
I have a screen shot of a “RANDOM” battleground where the entire opposing side were made up of only priests & hunters, and they won! 3 - 0 within Twin Peaks. They didn’t even have a tank or melee present, and they clearly didn’t need to. Even in arenas, they make an impossible comp to beat. Most high-ranking arena compositions are backed by a discipline priest.
I get that you had an annoying game, it doesn’t sound fun, but i promise it’s not impossible to beat. If it was, everyone in high rated rbgs would be running it and there aren’t even that many hunters in high rated rbgs. Hunters are easy to counter and are squishy
That being said, fighting hunters as a mage is probably one of the worst matchups
Hunters are so turbo cancer broken is not even funny anymore. Every single imbecile is playing that class because of how low effort it is to 1 shot people.
This may seem completely irrelevant, but PvP is a game of highs and lows, which is not everyone’s cup of tea, honestly. I’m starting to wonder why I still play it. D4 can’t come soon enough!
If you’re getting 1-shotted by a hunter then this is a you problem. A single hunter is fine. No one complains when there’s another hunter on the other team. They complain when there’s 5 of them.
