Relatively new to arena, been playing games while watching the AWC and pvp streams. However, it seems pretty obvious to me that some things, like destro locks/mw monks, versa stacking, and 15-20 minute long dampener games are not how they should be. Yet, the only changes I’ve seen so far is a gushing and spite nerf. Unless I missed something, there hasn’t been a single word about game length or problematic classes. Is this normal? Do patches and hotfixes for pvp normally take 3-6 months to even be addressed? I know its a completely different game and hard to compare, but league for example gets patches every few weeks and Apex gets large seasonal updates every few months which is why I’m so surprised.

This is pretty par for the course with Blizzard. Unfortunately WoW PvP doesn’t really have any good competitors so we have no alternative when Blizzard just does an awful job =/
Versa stacking isn’t a problem as the dmg is 2x the defense. CBS major needs looked at.
This isn’t true and no offense it’s just not that simple.
You need to look at EHP (Effective Health Pool) when adding in dmg reduction and how much it increases your survivorbility.
You can add 5% dmg reduction from Versa and increase your EHP significantly more than the damage value added from Versa would do. Versa also effects everything from Essences, to Tanking trinket, Azerite traits etc increasing their value and overall mitigation.
So in many builds the added Versa just completely smooths out the damage to rotate CDs creating a deep dampening Meta that the Damage increase from Versa won’t fix.
So saying Versa stacking isn’t a problem and it’s 2 for 1 is a big mistake. Just not how EHP works. Going from 20% dmg reduction on Versa to 30%. That 10% dmg reduction can increase Tankiness and EHP by 40 or 50% depending on builds.

You might not like me but I know about numbers and mechanics of damage reduction. You made an incorrect blanket statement. Your thinking is just mathematically wrong. You should read up on how EHP works. To let your dislike for someone get in the way of good information is a you problem you must overcome. I wish you luck.
When factoring in Versa dmg reduction you absolutely must multiply that by all other sources to get the final number of reduction and total EHP improvement. That is why some classes become so tanky and the dmg increase from Versa won’t be effective.
Hi Dracaea. Unfortunately there are currently no blizzard employees tasked with monitoring and altering pvp specifically. Don’t expect any significant changes or communication until this changes.
we had very frequent changes and tuning from aug 2016 → feb 2018
then we spent almost a year (last 2 legion seasons) with destro burning the entire world to the ground
i’m pretty sure that was around the time they let the entire pvp team go or something and moved holinka to hearthstone

He’s actually not entirely wrong, though. Since damage reduction increases your effective health, there is an exponential effect.
Not to mention one of BfA’s issues with PvP, stamina scaling. Our health pools have been increasing each season causing a bloat.
When people are able to stack enormous amounts of versatility, increasing our effective health paired with our huge health pools, it was inevitable that matches were going to get slower.

That’s not the major issue, though. Or we wouldn’t be seeing MW Jungle vs MLMW last 15 minutes every time. There’s nobody playing Conflict major in that matchup.

Nerf MW, fix Conflict bug, games will still last forever. There’s been plenty of evidence of it and there’s evidence that there is exponential DR scaling, but continue to ignore it I guess.
