The village is going to be a new Tauren settlement and among those arriving to help rebuild are Rexxar, Rokhan, and Chen. I kind of wonder if another adventure for the trio is in the store.
Ironhoof muses about the possibility of a centaur joining the Horde. I think that its a reference to the comics where that happened but you never know.

If the centaur join, will we have to get rid of our centaur hide rugs? Or will they love us for who we are.
Cause the rug stays.

They shall love us and get it after meeting their Kalimdor cousins.
Also I’m wandering if there will be an update each week to the village as we watchly slowly rebuilt or if we will just have this showing us that it is going to be rebuilt with it then being patched in.
If the centaur join the Horde it better be the Kalimdor ones. The Maruuk are too soft. Even tho the models are sweet. But I will eat my pants if this happens.
This is Bart Simpson energy.

Tuskarr for the alliance. Centaurs for the Horde.

I liked this questline a lot more than I thought I would.
Centaur joining Horde would be awesome, but how do we get past the mount problem?
For Alliance I would like either:
Satyr (maybe with a NE form)
Furbolg (kinda boring tho)
High Elf
Dryad/Keepers
The obvious Alliance counterpart to Centaur is Dryads. But the mount problem…
I definitely see Naga as more of a Horde race, tying in with Blood Elf and Nightborne and being an alliance of convenience type race like Undead.
If Horde gets Naga and Alliance gets Satyr, they could add Demon Hunter as a class option for both.
Ty for reading this got kinda long.

Releasing both might be a way to soften that blow. If they were restricted on certain mounts, most people would understand.
… Or maybe they can have a “two foot” form

I cannot really imagine them adding centaur before exhausting far less difficult options that have been long requested like Ogres or the Mok’nathal—Both of which could use the Kul Tiran rig.
Still be kinda neat, though.

Ogres and Amani are up there. They would perfectly fit as core races instead of allied.
I wouldn’t be too enthusiastic about centaur joining but it wouldn’t be the worst horde race to be added, I guess. I’d prefer gnolls since I doubt naga will happen, but there isn’t even a hint of that happening and I think I’ve long given up hope of ever being a horde race added that I’d get hyped for.
Not a fan of the tauren settling down in Ohn’ahran Plains, though. It’s reinforcing the “new night elf tree being planted there” vibes as some sort of lame counterbalance, and I’m already dreading that.

I think it’s pretty on-the-nose, wink wink, CENTAUR WILL JOIN THE HORDE foreshadowing at this point.
Probably some allied race expansion in the future will include them. This has major Nightbourne/Belf relationship vibes.
My one regret is the Dragonflight Centaur are pretty boring aesthetically. I like their marauding Kalimdor cousins more. And the Nokhud. The Horde could use some edge right now.
At the very least I hope Maruuk get better beards. The clean shaven faces are off putting. I want a wildman beard.
Additionally, if we finally break the barrier on non-bipedal playable races, does this mean Alliance will get Dryad/Naga?

I’m just wondering how that would work with armor and mounts. Like would the foot armor cover all four, would they just have the option to be their own ground mount, and when it comes to flying mounts will they an ability to become the them?
I’d hate to fight against the tuskarr if things ever turned back to war again. Honestly I think the best way from here on out is to have all new playable races start neutral and choose factions just like the Dracthyr.

I get that neutral races would be the most economical way of adding new ones, but honestly I’m not really feeling it with the dracthyr. They feel too neutral to me. Probably doesn’t make sense but eh.
I wonder if it’s in part because there’s functionally no horde as a faction in Dragonflight, but just having Cindrethresh with a once-off “oh man I love the horde!” feels really weak when you don’t see them actually do anything with the horde beyond being mere tourists. I think they need a lot more actually shown, since being a neutral race inherently disqualifies them from the reject or misfit themed angles of being part of the horde. And so far I’m just not seeing it.

Eh… they do not really have strong ties to either side. It is the curse of the Panderan all over again. Which is why they swore they would not make another neutral race again; it is hard to write for them if things heat up between the Alliance and Horde so they tend to be stuffed in the trunk where inconvenient stuff goes.
The Drakthyr basically split based on military regiment, instead of personal choice. Personally, I chose lizard batman instead (seriously, I keep waiting for Azurathel to go “I am the NIGHT” and jump off a building into the darkness), and that’s good enough for me.
True, but I don’t even mean in a faction war sense. A race that can feasibly go both ways automatically disqualifies it from relating to the horde’s primary in-universe theme of sheltering the outcast. Because they’re provably not if they can be in the alliance as well.

No, I get what you mean. The Dracthyr have no real ties to either faction, and the main reason that they have chosen to join is because Nozdormu told them to warn the people of Azeroth about Raszageth’s return and Ebyssian and Wrathion greased the wheels.

Funny is I suspect we’ll never see Lili around the expedition or this settlement as it will require a new model that might not be as marketable as the small one.
