Baine logic (spoiler)

She tells you to choose either to kill him yourself, or bring him back to her, so she can kill Saurfang herself.
She words it in a very discreet way, but that is what she says.

Ad Hominem literally means “To the Person” in new Latin. You can not take a comment that I make up in the air, about myself and claim it is being directed at you (personally) and claim it as a “Ad Hominem”. I’m tired of having this uneducated debate. Back on topic.

So you storm a prison because you feel someone was unjustly incarcerated. You start killing guards but spare those who surrender. You target the warden, the doctor and the head guard. Are you justified doing so because you spared some?

You’re justified in freeing someone who was unjustly imprisoned, full stop. You dont even really need to spare people, since ‘just following orders’ isnt a proper defense for committing crimes. Baine is a better person than he should be.

Not really, you can infer that with her tone, but she always has that tone so it is a bit of a reach to pretend she was straight with you. She tells you that she doesn’t want the alliance to get a hold of him and that is why we have to hurry to him, the alliance not getting their hands on him is pretty much the only thing she tells us frankly, the rest is supposition on your part, imo. This is how she spins it, which isnt really telling us anything. And the fact that her secret service dark ranger tells you to stay out of it after you find all the clues, should tell you that Sylvanas was far from being honest with you.

I haven’t gotten this far in the war campaign yet. I came into BfA later than others (Despise the Horde story and what blizzard has done). I plan to side with Saurfang (And Baine, I guess. Since it locks you into siding with Baine too). I am interested in finding out more about what happens. Even if it is a spoiler.

If Sylvanas kills Baine, then she’s just created a Martyr for those that oppose her to rally behind. Lor’themar will act as overall commander as he has the most experience dealing with Sylvanas. Lilian will stir those Forsaken disloyal to Sylvanas (Based off of the events of Before the Storm, I’d say half though a few more might after finding out about Zelling and Sylvanas’s plans for Derek) to action, and the Orcs, Trolls and Tauren will already oppose her. The Mag’har might remain loyal until the likes of Rexxar or Saurfang give Geya’rah the talk (Duty =/= Honour) and Gallywix will jump ship because Sylvanas isn’t profitable anymore.

The entire Desolate Council was in unanimous agreement in wanting to meet their relatives. Sylvanas’ grasp on the Forsaken is far shakier than she believes it to be.

Yep, because bending a being’s mind to deny them their free-will is slavery and also torture.

You spare anyone who is willing to surrender (Basically the entire crew, though Baine does help in killing the fanatical Dark Rangers, Warden, Doctor, and Head Guard who wouldn’t surrender.

Yes, because those who wouldn’t surrender didn’t. They were given a choice.

The writers are clearly trying to force some sort of dramatic confrontation with the racial leaders. But how they have done it so far doesnt really make sense, considering, at this point, all of the leaders, but the Mag’har leader, isn’t fine with the way Sylvanas is running things. Even Lorth is questioning if she is making the right decisions, only he thinks they need to be careful…which doesnt make sense, considering almost all the other leaders are not happy with her.

As it stands, the story leaves much to be desired, imo.

This is literally the opposite of how they react to her execution of Zelling and imprisonment of Baine, though

I meant isnt. not is. Was a typo.

You said earlier:

So, it seems to me, that Sylvanas was only trying to use you so that you would track him down and once she got to him? I mean- clearly no one kills Saurfang, even if he is found. He gets away. But it does make you wonder what the point of it is.

Lor’themar isn’t questioning her anymore; he KNOWS she’s got to go. The Mag’har leader is naive, and I think that Saurfang will either die to show her Sylvanas is bad or will act as his second chance to prevent another Garrosh.

Lor’themar is just waiting for Sylvanas to be isolated and Lilian to most likely stir up trouble within the Forsaken.

It is great that you know what it translates into, now how about you actually look up what is considered one?

“argumentum ad hominem, is a fallacious argumentative strategy whereby genuine discussion of the topic at hand is avoided by instead attacking the character, motive, or other attribute of the person making the argument, or persons associated with the argument, rather than attacking the substance of the argument itself.”

Notice “persons”? Now should we continue talking about “uneducated debate”? You called those who you disagree with skirt chaises. That is a classic text book ad hominem attack. Making an attack on motives vs. argument of those who dislike Baines actions.

Just so you two know, you both are not addressing the topic of this post by going on with this useless discussion.

Well ya, blizzard is really keeping us in the dark here. But pretending you have to wait till she is isolated, to me, is a weird viewpoint. We are losing the war and she has isolated 2 powerful horde leaders. At this point she is a failure of a warchief. What is there to wait on? If we were winning I could understand the dilemma, but all she has done is create more problems inside the horde.

So you he went all gang buster busting down the door and killing guards is OK because he let some go. Lol, I bet that would fly in court. Also he never gave the option to surrender. He never announced his presence or offered them a choice. He started by attacking. He was the aggressor. He attacked them. They were defending themselves.

So again killing dozens to save one is OK.

I JUST did it again and only about 4-5 of the crew surrendered as we were attacking them. Notice the key part there, we were attacking them.

i feel like were glossing over the fact that a makgora is the absolute last thing she would want since it very likely she wouldn’t win. deprived of her banshee magics, her poisons and fighting at a range that renders her peerless marksmanship nearly useless she would be at a major disadvantage against either saurfang or baine . it is very likely she would lose against probably the last living “greatest” warrior alive or baine who she has said (in war crimes) can break her bones like they were twigs. So she pushed them pushed their morals and there hearts if they stay good they are on board with the plan if they leave or turn traitor she can remove them from the board.

sorry for the wall of bad grammer but im in a hurry and wanted to post before i forget or get distracted
