You have to understand that there are some Horde players who are so unfathomably upset with the current writing that they support Sylvanas purely out of spite.
I should know. I’m one of them. What Blizz is doing to the Horde isn’t making me dislike Sylvanas. It’s making me dislike them for how they continue to treat the Horde. So I’ll boo Baine and applaud Sylvanas simply because I know I’m not supposed to.

It increased my respect for Baine but it’s far too late. Just make him or Saurfang challenge Sylvanas to mak’gora and let this expansion be over.

As for the topic of this thread, Baine is now putting up some resistance against Sylvanas’ schemes, the cinematic only strengthening the feeling for me that he’s desperate for peace in a dying world (Edit: We all remember that, right? The planet is literally bleeding to death while we fight this war? Anyone at all?). I’d have preferred this kind of thing to occur sooner after Teldrassil instead, but better late than never. People who don’t like Baine never will, aside from a few who’d prefer to see him snap Sylvanas like a twig in the most literal way possible.

I’m tired of this loyalism to Sylvanas within the Horde. I will stand proudly behind beastmode Baine. The “Horde soldiers” he killed weren’t Horde. They were mindless pawns to the Banshee Queen. I will not be a mindless follower to Sylvanas and equate that with loyalty to the Horde.

Not liking Baine doesn’t mean your loyal to Sylvanas. It is quite possible to hate both. People need to stop assuming that everyone who hates Baine does so because they are some fan of Sylvanas.
In fact a lot of my disgust at the story comes from the fact that I find all the options given to the horde terrible. There is no way of winning in this situation. You side with Sylvanas and be a mustache twirling, genocidal cartoon villain or you side with Saurfang/Baine and prove the horde is an incompetent and failed state that shouldn’t by any sense be allowed self governing. All Saurfang and Baine are proving is the Horde shouldn’t be allowed to rule itself.
I suppose you COULD say that he went beastmode on that door.
To be entirely honest, I don’t think it’s a good idea either, because it isn’t going to fix anything. But, I suppose it’s easier for me to take that position because I also honestly think there is no way to repair this story.
It’s why I became so disillusioned with the story that I unsubbed. Because I honestly believe the Horde is unsalvagable as a narrative. There is no fixing what Blizzard has turned it in to. And seeing them pretend that removing Sylvanas fixes anything boils my non-existent blood.
So, since there’s no winning, I’m at least going to do what feels most cathartic.
I feel this hard, I’m personally just too attached to the Horde as a whole to write off completely what first drew me in.
I cannot wait for this faction war to be over so we can go back to none of the current faction leaders being relevant again.

Pens an emotional letter to Anduin crying about how unfair all this is and that all he wants is to be loved. Sends a part of his own body just to drive home how much he cares.
Huffs and puffs a lot and looks super sad.
Decides to prove his love by murdering Horde soldiers for the Alliance and giving Jaina her brother back.
Accidentally ends up being used by Sylvanas, delivering her sleeper agent into Alliance hands.
Gets arrested.
Sits in jail and cries some more realising he’s just doomed his own people for a Human,
Beast mode.
Baine is definitely going beastmode. The way he trembled before Jaina, averted his eyes and looked downcast, not to mention him flinching when she summoned her magic. Total beastmode. I’ve never been more proud of Baine.
The Alliance isn’t wiped out of existence yet so who cares.
I’m amused how twisted Dark Rangers are considered Horde soldiers and Baine killing them is treasonous…
…But Sylvanas bombing and raising actual Horde soldiers at UC is fine, and Vol’jin killing Kor’kron in MoP is fine.
The mental gymnastics the people on my faction try to pull off is astounding, really.
