What is blizzard doing with Baine? The guy hasn’t done anything in shadowlands, he has not contributed in any shape or form.
Would it kill them to make him a spirit walker or something to give some potential or power up.

Jailor said he was unworthy and chucked him off a cliff. Was mia for the whole of Korthia and turned up in Zerith Mortus. The ongoing saga of baine the incomprehendable.

Not just Korthia.
Baine will forever be etched in my memory as the sad cow sitting on the floor in Oribos, with the thousand yard stare, while other heroes are out doing things.
It summed up his character so amazingly you’d swear it was a meme, but no, there he was, just sitting there, spacing out, while the entirety of existence is at stake.

He’s also the sad cow who spent a year chastizing Sylvanas as the world burned until finally standing up for something when Sylvanas threatened to use Jaina’s brother to ambiguously harm the Proudmoore family.

I think Thrall was there as well sitting dejected on step. It was a pretty sad image for the horde.
Baine just turned up while I was fighting malganis and said: "it seems you could use some assistance’ and proceded not to help.

Even when Horde characters are inserted in a non-factionwar storyline Horde players are still not satisfied. Clearly, no matter what we give them they won’t ever be happy.
Baine needs to be out on vacation for an expansion or two. Maybe he should get married and have a child?

We should be happy because horde characters are shown as useless and incompetent? The dude sat around oribos doing nothing and was mentioned unworthy by the Jailer. Please do tell me what he has done.
While we are at it look at how many alliance characters are active compare to horde. For the horde we have 2, Thrall and Baine. For the alliance we have 5, Jaina, Anduin, Tyrande, Shandris, Taelia and all 5 of them play a bigger role. I am not counting the dead, natural or other that not in the current faction. Even if I did it makes the list tilt even further for the alliance.
There would be non stop complaining from the alliance if they were in the horde’s shoes.

Both factions have different problems. We all get blue balled but in different ways, I was making a joke that Blizzard’s weak attempt at including a Horde character in a non factionwar storyline was as weak as their attempt to give something to Night Elves to resolve the whole Teldrassil mess.
Problem is whenever NE or Alliance fans voice similar complaints like the ones talked about here we get some hyperbolic posters saying that virtually nothing is enough to make certain people happy.
Which comes full circle with the joke I was making.

All I’ve got is speculation.
The characters in the Shadowlands all parallel those from the old Hour of Twilight Dungeon (Jaina, Sylvanas, Tyrande, and Baine).
My guess is, there was something Baine was supposed to be used for, but as Shadowlands is ending without a .3 patch, it was probably cut.

Hey now. Smalls was talking about when they’re not in a faction war. It’s very specific. Horde characters are always useless and incompetent, regardless of whether or not a faction conflict is occurring. Just look at every Horde character who wasn’t Sylvanas (who was already working as an antagonist for both sides) or Nathanos (Sylvanas’s OG simp) in BfA. Who was useful or competent?
So, very different. But when we’re not in open war with the Alliance, Horde characters add the extra layered character depth of being very lazy and needing to have a sit down rest, too.
It is very different and compelling.

He also said Zandalari wouldn’t be getting dino druid forms, that blue eyes didn’t make sense for Blood Elves, and a whole slew of other stuff.
I’m not saying he’s always wrong, but his track record of being wrong, failing to acknowledge it, and trying to save face, is pretty substantial.

Again Ion’s specific foreshadowing was:
- Cairne would show up
- Cairne would tell Baine the truth of their people
Combine with the Anshe = Zovaal speculation that never came to pass, I think the plot was going to be:
- Reveal Yaungol are descended of Mawsworn but twisted by Life like Orcs were
- Reveal Anshe is Zovaal
- Probably say “we learned to be peaceful thanks to Elune”, undermining their own cultural agency, proving Musha is the wrong name
But thankfully someone Stopped Them.
And I know it wasn’t Golden and Danuser.
