Baine Bloodhoof: The last potential character

I don’t worship an evil character.

I just want my Horde leaders to be pro-Horde.

Baine does nothing to help the Horde. Has been written horribly. And always needs a pro-Alliance moment to do anything.

Baine is Pro-horde.

Maybe not the horde you specifically envision the horde to be, but he is pro-horde.

The horde isn’t the murderhobo faction, if that’s what you want, your playing the wrong faction. Hell, your playing the wrong game.

At least he fought back. Unlike the PC that simped at her boots. Like all the Goblins did.

Its not what I want.

What if I want a Horde leader not to suggest surrender as our next action during the funeral of the king of an ally?

What if I want a Horde leader that will do more than say “for the Horde” and slink away and do nothing when he confronts someone murdering his kin?

What if I want a Horde leader that doesn’t wait until members of the Alliance could die before standing up to a warchief leading the Horde down a negative path?

Ah yes. The ol “I will fight back by doing nothing while you murder other Tauren” strategy.

Thrall never built the Horde to be what you want. Neither did Cairne, nor Vol’jin. Just the pretenders Garrosh and Sylvanus,

Were you not thew one screaming how he was a traitor for killing those Forsaken? I can’t tell, the Sylvanas fanboys all look alike

If not Baine, then maybe the oft-forgotten Aysa Cloudsinger and Ji Firepaw?

Pfft.

Its funny because I am not a Sylvanas fanboy.

Its possible to dislike both Sylvanas and Baine. They were both horribly written and their actions are stupid.

But if thats all you have to defend how horribly Baine has been written.

You do you.

Just no elves, please no elves. But I expect we will have a redeemed Sylvans back leading the Horde in all her High Elf glory.

Than again, since she was part of the Alliance and murdered Horde in Ghostlands, she might just re-join the Alliance

How has he been horribly written when he’s always sought peace over war?

Why is suggesting that the Horde should surrender to the Alliance at the funeral of the king a well written aspect of Baine?

Well the people who hate Baine come into it from three main angles.

  1. Sylvanas fanboy.
  2. Garrosh fanboy.
  3. PvP center player who think faction matter in this game.

None of which is really that good of a look

Yeah, ‘redeemed’. Because it’s that easy to take a step back from genocide.
Sylvie is a floater that has to be flushed a few times to get rid of.
Her third and final death will open the way to a new age.

Ok.

I am none of the three.

Nice try though.

Because every act of reprisal has always turned out worse for the Horde. Every. Time.

It is funny though. This is one of the only post I can 100% guarantee you will jumping and post on.

Not sure why you have such a personal blinding hate of a video game character, but you do you.

Show me where the bad Tauren touched you on the doll.

My only real issue with Baine as a character was his wild 180 at the beginning of BFA. It made sense for him to make that 180, but also, why did he and most of the Tauren go along with Sylvanas’ batpoop plan in the first place?!

It’s not like she was subtle about her intentions. Her first act was to set fire to a gigantic, spiritually-significant tree, lmao.

I feel like the only reason he didn’t act immediately is because they needed to save their ‘epic twist’ for later.

So you feel its good to be all “Hey, I know your dad just died. But the people that killed him? We should surrender to”. And at the funeral is the best time to bring this up?

“Person who always defends Baine makes fun of person for not liking Baine”

I like how you haven’t actually responded to anything I said. You just keep trying to put me into some predetermined box so you can blanket dismiss me.

The Yellow Exclamation Mark tells us to. To progress, they had no choice.
Writing caveat, basically.

Baines fought to protect his people. Hes just not a idiot driven by emotion.

Baine never wanted a war with the damn alliance, no one should, its wasteful, short sighted, and accomplishes nothing.

Baine took actions to prevent the horde from becoming scourge 2.0, the fact alliance lives were saved by his action is a secondary effect.

Your short sighted in your evaluation of the character, but your also dug into your trenches so you will likely never change your mind.

Your simply wrong, you view all of these events in a way that suits your own personal bias of wanting to hate baine.

Hes a perfectly fine character, if under utilized. Its a pity hes one of the few characters trying to prevent the horde from becoming either the scourge or murderhobo warmongers, and people constantly give him crap for it.

It was wise advice. Princess Telanji didn’t exactly ingratiate herself to her people when most of the Zuldazar fleet got wiped out from Jaina Proudmoore and the Naga because Sylvannas fed her rage.
