Baine Bloodhoof: The last potential character

Baine Bloodhoof is the last potential character for organic growth.

It’s not Jaina because her arc was finished up in BFA rather nicely.
It’s not Thrall because he’s starting to reflect Metzen’s ‘dad persona’
It’s not Sylvannas because redemption is now a pensive look away for any evil person.
It’s not Saint Anduin because Blizzard can’t make up their minds if he’s a saint or hierophant at this point.
It’s not ‘my beloooved’ Tyrande Whisperwind because Alliance characters are immune to self destruction.

But Bain ‘I cry a lot’ Bloodhoof. Why? Because Baine Bloodhoof is at the lowest point in his life, sitting in Oribos, in a puddle of his own… tears.

Three times his view of the world has been shattered by three, stronger willed people. The Jailer judged him as inadequate for higher standards and threw him off a parapet. He does the morally right things, yet situations always turn against him.

He’s at his lowest point. No Cairne to consult him. No Mayla to console him. Just him and his shattered perception of reality.

If Blizzard can managed to not completely wreck his character like everyone else, expect to see Baine Bloodhoof becoming more and more aggressive, coming to the realization of how strong he and his people are among the Horde.

It’s time for Taurens to take their rightful place among the Horde. Next expansion will be all about the cows.

I wouldn’t go that far, but expect Baine to start becoming more assertive in decision making after they return to Azeroth.

While I like the guy, I’m not too sure how Baine could be involved. It’s mostly between Bolvar and Anduin, Sylvanas and Tyrande, and the Eternal Ones and Zovaal in Shadowlands.

He doesn’t have to be involved. Baine’s pretty much a damaged mind right now, watching numbly as stronger players make moved. But writer’s could take advantage of that depending on what Azeroth looks like after the Shadowlands concludes.

You could have a scenario with Garrosh and Baine. That would be really interesting to see, since Baine defended him at his trial.

There’s some potential for Garrosh and Baine to grow really well, but that would mean relying on Blizzard to write without spectacle. X to doubt on that one.

There’s also the chance for Vol’jin.

I’d like him to develop more.

But then again, that would require blizzard giving Tauren anything. Which they generally do not do.

Are you saying Baine and Mayla should take over as King and Queen of Azeroth?

If so I am in !!!

They can’t give Baine any meaningful growth as a character. He’s a man. He needs to be weepy and subservient.

Baine should be sent to the Thunder Bluff Steak House.

The only organic growth I want from Baine is being dead and buried in the ground. With a small bush growing over his grave.

Been completely wrecked for a while.

Tauren are really the coolest race. The Original Native Azerothians. They predate all races (yeah, even Trolls), yet are the most unassuming, unpretentious and humble of the races.

Not just a man, an Alpha bull that had Sylvanas shaking in her boots when he grabbed her.

Was that before or after Baine shrugged his shoulders and said “for the Horde” and did nothing, when Sylvanas was murdering countless of his kin?

could not have said it better

Honestly I wish Blizzard would give Baine some backstory to spite all the haters.

Baine did nothing wrong, but because they for some reason worship an evil character, they hate him.

It’s unsightly.

The only thing that can save WoW’s story is John Favreau. Get him to write 10.0, and we could get back up to Wrath level subs again, lol.
