So Blizz announced a while ago that we’ll only have 2 types of badges (triumph and valor) throughout WOTLK Classic. They haven’t said what they’re going to do phase to phase with existing badges. Will we be able to stockpile badges and buy the next newest and greatest gear, 4 piece tier, etc when the next phase comes out? Thoughts?
They don’t really need to say as it’s quite obvious given how they have handled every single case in the xpacs after wrath that the change is indicative of. While some small details are unknown the main points are. You won’t be able to stockpile valor badges.
This is no different than how arena points and honor points work that is also what the system was based off.
Valor badges will turn into heroism/triumph badges till some cap if there is one than anything over the cap will turn into gold.
Valor will keep being used for current content equal gear while the old valor gear will roll over into the heroism/ triumph vendor.

There is not going to be the badges you listed in wrath that has already been confirmed.
It will only ever be the two types we got now.

The old raid will drop trumph like heroics.
Heroism is from heroics, triumph is from ToC.
We dont even have triumph yet.

I don’t know if it means anything but there are merchants selling stuff for badges that don’t currently drop.

Yes I’m used to calling it triumph blizzard went with using heroism for the lower badge but yes you are right that is the name they went will and won’t be swaping all xpac.
Likly to be updated once the phase we are meant to get those in comes by.
Are they going to buff the raids to match the emblem upgrade then?
Because then Naxx will drop Ulduar equal emblems, for much easier runs.
That was already the case in wrath.
Wrath ilvl inflation made the last tier rather irrelevant once out this was one of the reason uldar was so under played as toc killed it off instantly on drop.
No and no reason to. Naxx 10 will be droping naxx 25 loot and naxx 25 will be droping extra loot.

Uhhh… Hm. Alright, I mean, not sure how it’ll be when ToC/ICC hit, when Naxx is really really easy at that point, but at least it’s free catchup gear from that period.
Might work out since they buff ilvl in Ulduar anyway.
The issue always was that when ICC was current tier, Naxx and Ulduar weren’t touched, so yeah, I’ve changed my mind, decision’s good.
Not really a issue at all. The lower tier badges are always only for 10 man equal gear that is always equal or worse to the old 25 man stuff. As such for anyone that has been keeping up there at best small upgrades.
While for those that haven’t been keeping up or alts they already had easy access to that gear as each raid introduced 5 mans that droped that lower badge level as such they already had a way to access that loot for catch up. It changes nothing to the gear progression other than increasing the total badges you can get dailly. They may end up fully removing badges from the lower raids but that’s doubtful as a non issue to be there as those raids are harder than the 5 mans that already gave the badges in rather large amounts.
there are cloaks on the cloak vendor in dalaran right now that cost emblems of frost
It’s likely those vendors will be updated come next phase. Blue posts have stated that they plan on only having two badges because they feel the new badges each phase thing was a mistake.
why does blizz feel the need to keep fixing things that arent broken, i wanted wotlk as it was back in 2008 ever since they announced classic and classic as a whole has only gotten worse over time because of the stupid decisions being made for it

If the name of badges are the excuse you’re using, i dont think you like wrath as much as you say you do.
im not the one that hates wrath, the people asking for and defending the changes do. its sad when private servers give a more accurate representation of the game as it was than the actual copyright holders can supply
