To be fair, I don’t mind as long as they don’t change the fact that we can gear up so much better now as casuals without having to be pushed into anything above LFR.
I was EXTREMELY infuriated in SL with all the gatekeeping and toxic elitism being the norm. It was a sight for sore eyes that now gearing up can eventually be achieved by the little man.
Grouping up for a world boss (If your server isn’t big enough to just tag the boss another raid is fighting already) is fine by me because it’s even easier than LFR and somehow even less pressure than a heroic!
But maybe I’m Biased… As a Warrior main I have a tank spec that I sometimes use for trickier mobs, so I guess I am an elitist boomer. xD

I too want to put in an effort. But said effort is scolded and punished by people like you.
I want to enjoy content. Not be put in a penalty box and be told propaganda like “make your own group, the hardest manual group formed content gets the best rewards”.

This thread is going really off the rails.
424 is a very nice place to end up for world content and does not need to go higher. Nor should it go lower. Its a good place for it.
Having limitations on what can and cant be put in the catalyst is fine but it was handled very poorly this patch due to the gear and the way it is acquired being indistinguishable from any other world gearing.
It should return to how it was in 10.0 as that gear felt good to work towards, and in my case it was preferable to wear in the world over tier gear.
10.1 dropped the ball on having good and engaging solo world content. It needs to be improved going forwards or else world players will be left with nothing to do and just quit.

Solo players are playing WoW the wrong way if they want gear rewards that are beyond what are currently available to them for farming trivial content.
If pouring hours into world quests is your idea of “an effort” fine I accept that without issue. I just don’t think you should be rewarded beyond that effort, which this thread is predicated upon.

It comes from group content. Always has, always will.
If that is upsetting to you, I’d recommend taking a break. Try Hogwarts legacy maybe?

I like to do open world stuff and gathering. I also run LFR weekly for the gear. I do not run M+ with all the toxicity or normal/heroic raids for that reason either.
After LFR, vault, and weekly quests plus world quests I can pretty much have an all around 424 ilvl character. This makes me happy it allows me to not get wiped on world elites etc and is the reward for the effort I put in personally.
There is NOTHING wrong with the current systems for solo/world players at all. In fact it is great. I did love legion and its artifact weapon stuff which provided a great goal during the entire expac I wouldnt mind that again but not everyone did.

I like to think that the reception ranging from complete neutrality about the world content to complete disgust over it, combined with the data im sure they have of how little people care for what they added, will show blizzard they need to do better going forward.
Of course i could be wrong, but i really hope not.

I played it from start to finish. There was even a trans character in game, did you know? There wasn’t even a hint of transphobia.
