Gonna need a source on that.
Pretty sure you can’t provide it.

None of that is proof.
Twitch streams? Because people stream Classic, it has more players? Wrong.
High pop servers? Retail has that too, and more of them. Again, wrong.
Classic is doing WELL, it’s not a “bigger success than Retail”. You’ve provided no proof of that.
None. Zero. Zilch. Nada.
Basically the same for me.
I loved classic. I prefer many of the systems over retail.
I just found that I don’t have the time to commit to long dungeon runs or level grinding, so back to retail for me.
I may give classic another go when battlegrounds are released.
Common sense, critical thinking, and pattern recognition.
this is exactly my situation. And also why this guy is only 18.
I play both. Retail for fast play, classic when I’ve got time to “smell the flowers”.
“millions”
gets 3 hearts lol
Um…what? That’s not people playing the game…that is not data or facts.
I got to 60 within 2 weeks of launch and killed rag and ony. Then quit. its boring. nothing to do.
The Game is Classic. retail is overload and handholding.
Only thing hand holding is classic raids. Where u literally hold hands and slowlly navigate the horrible trash design of MC and kill bosses in 30 seconds while spaming 1 button rotation.
Retail takes way more skill than classic and has way more to do for everyone,
I feel ya OP. I have fun playing Classic, but there are some things from retail that I sorely miss. This will be an unpopular opinion, but the Dungeon Finder is chief among them. I spent over an hour in Classic today trying to get in a group for DM:E to get the crescent key to even be able to pick up the quest for my level 55 waters. Despite spamming both LFG channels, I got nothing. Tried again a little while later, and I finally managed to get in a group, only for it to disband thirty minutes later because we couldn’t find a tank. For heaven’s sake, I just want my lvl 55 waters. So, I swapped over to retail and managed to run five leveling dungeons in less than two hours. As much as I enjoy Classic, it’s utterly frustrating to try and do stuff sometimes.
I’m kinda feeling the same way. I level a Classic character to around level 20 and then reroll. I have about 5 or 6 characters in the 18 to 25 level range. I’m kinda having fun doing so, but I doubt it’ll stay that way.
It’s also great for those taking a break until the next patch comes out and there are probably more people doing that then there are those that are playing classic hard core. In fact when when 8.3 comes out a lot will come back to retail until phase 2 of classic comes out .
You did indirectly the moment you posted how many people were logged into the two WoW reddits like it meant a damned thing about player base.
Fun fact: You don’t have to be subscribed to WoW to post on its reddit, and some of us subscribed to WoW don’t use reddit.
So, let me spell it out for you, since I obviously have to: Your reddit claim as a backup to your other claim means exactly jack and ****.
Now, if you any real data to backup your claims about Retail WoW vs Classic WoW player numbers, we’re all ears. Otherwise, you must like talking out of your butt.
Indeed. It’s a core problem with mmos in general. Newer players will always have a much harder time to do group content while leveling the farther along the game is. There are some mmos that have various solutions to the problem but wow is not one of them, well party sync is “something” I guess but it’s not nearly good enough.
Eventually classic will turn into a ghost town while leveling and it’ll be quite miserable. You might get lucky and find a guild/“friend” that might drag some lowbies through a dungeon but I wouldn’t count on it.
Classic is a bigger success than retail. This is a fact. It is not in dispute.
You need an adult to explain the differences between fact and opinion. Nothing you stated is a fact. Since Blizzard doesn’t release sub numbers, no one (except blizzard) knows what the populations are at any given time. Classic has a population… that’s a fact. Retail is better than Classic… that’s an opinion.
Using twitch stream numbers is nonsense.
If you type /join lookingforgroup there is a fairly active amount of people communicating together for grouping up, but maybe that’s too much work. It’s harder than pressing a few buttons to queue up that’s for sure.
I don’t understand why having a window is worse than just looking at chat lines. Kind of like having Windows vs MS-Dos, because…
Oh well, have fun in retail with your collections and QOL improvements.
You seem to be wanting to live in caves, instead of making things simpler.
Fitting for a level 13 troll, I suppose.
After 41 levels and grinding gold for a mount I decided to quit classic. I don’t hate it. I actually had fun there.
I didnt make it to 20 before I was ripping my hair out. But it was ONLY that slogging travel speed that burned me out.
Other than that some of the game mechanically I did like better than retail.
Why are so many pro classic evangelists trolling non-Classic forums. Get a life or go play your game.
Everyone likes to complain about lfg but I bet those people either forgot or weren’t around for the days you spent spamming in trade chat for 2 hours for a tank just for a heroic dungeon.
When lfg came out in wrath it was pretty much the best thing ever to me. Trying to find a tank and healer every day to run halls of lightning was a special kind of torture. Sure Ques are long now but at least you can go other places and do other things while you wait.
