After 41 levels and grinding gold for a mount I decided to quit classic. I don’t hate it. I actually had fun there.
But we can’t deny that it lacks a lot of content available on retail only. Way too much to give up on.
The fact that I was having a hard time finding groups to elite dungeons and quests doesn’t help either. With no lfg ui there was no way around it. I never thought the lfg ui was so important till these days.
In retail I’m back to getting things done and flying ! I’m loving it so much more now after playing classic!
Sorry I did try classic, but retail is the game.
Don’t feel bad. Same happened to me.
I was so stoked about classic, but after getting to level 25-ish, I was like “oh yeah, now I remember how long it took to get anything done in this game”.
I’m glad others are enjoying it though.
Daily reminder that more people are playing a 15 year old version of the game than BFA.
Are you trying to convince us or yourself?
I’d really love to see proof of this.
But they arent?
Listen, you dont like bfa, millions do. Settle down and enjoy what you like. I play both personally.
Do what ever makes you happy, and if that is retail i say welcome back!
The only thing retail has in addition to classic are things that aren’t even mmorpg related. Flying, Pet battles, candy crush dailies, etc. That rubbish isn’t for us rpg’ers.
I did the same thing I could not find a decent guild for the life of me.
The reason why you probably had a hard time finding groups is because you are behind the pack in terms of progression. A few people are working on their 3rd or even 4th 60 right now, and that means that their first character has next to no need to go back into old content. Tricking seasoned players to venture back into old content is a good tactic on blizzard’s part to subtlety carry the newcomers and slower-leveling people in the community.
Just look at TBC. You ever wonder why Blizzard added the opposite faction class to yours, and put in new races? To incentivize the seasoned players to venture back into Azeroth to passively help other people. Classic does not have that. You level fast and you reach the spoils at the end, and get to coast at the level if you get overbudgeted gear that remains unreasonably bis for too long. It turns into a raidlogging game.
I too tried Classic, and like you it was okay. But doesn’t suit me. Long grinds to get to levels in previously seen content.
What REALLY turned me off is people sniping resources while you’re engaged in combat, I had forgotten that was thing (no shared kills/resources) but Classic renewed my dislike for that aspect. And the running everywhere. Didn’t miss that either. I reached to level 6 and then asked myself why am I not playing retail?
Despite some people saying it’s more sociable and better community, no, it’s not. The community is the same as retail, now it just takes longer to get anything done. No thanks.
I’m not sure that’s sustainable. I’ve already made an alt and leveled it a bit out of “well, I need to log in a grind some more” lack of interest and haven’t logged this guy in in over a week now while I have done some work on Retail Murgatroyd.
Classic has a global LFG chat so you can easily find groups wherever you are. You have to turn it on.
idk, all measurable metrics place the classic hype train dying. All warcraft traffic has returned to pre-classic numbers.
I don’t need to convince anyone of anything.
This is how I feel and as you see others had the same experience, others not. There’s no reason for you to talk like that.
Don’t make assertions if you aren’t prepared to defend them.
People keep rerolling alts means they’re leveling again and should mean more groups. Your don’t create level 60 alts in classic.
Such delusion. Well, to each their own. Feel free to live under the burden of your delusion while you continue to play a game that has been retarded in order to appease a playerbase that seems to be stuck in a Punky Brewster rerun.
Welcome back! \o/ I had a similar experience but I’m glad classic is now available for those that enjoy it.
I know and I said this to a lot of people in my guild while playing there.
Still had a hard time during 30s-40s.
