Azure Waterstrider and my anger

Aspect of the Cheetah? Gone
Aspect of the Pack? Gone
Hunters mark? Gone
Marksman as a fun part of the talent tree? Replaced with some kind of spray and pray RNGeezuz poop spec

And that’s just hunters.

if there was only some type of zepplin that you could take… they even say where it is…

Why the hell would I stand around for the zeppelin on my 18th alt when i used to be able to port to Shrine, bind there, and then make easy work of getting around while leveling?

Who are we kidding with this “just use the tram or zeppelin” type of excuse for the idiocy coming out of Bliz…

So they did up the chance to be dismounted.

I really hope Ion gets pushed off his bike.

While I was able to patch the system out of my playstyle, I really don’t appreciate having to press two buttons instead of one to use my ground mount.

You know, the entire reason you removed the Strider’s ability in the first place: it was a minor inconvenience for the other playstyle to think ahead and carry potions, or to swap mounts at the water’s edge?

Where is your concern for my playstyle? Please allow the following in one macro:

/cast ~mount name here~
/cancelaura ~water walking ability here~

Thank you.

Edited because my brackets don’t function here. Just here. >.<

That is if the Zeppelin or Boat doesn’t bug out…as it has been doing on and off since late 7.3.5 patch.

(My guess is they goofed up something in the coding for the old zeps and boats when they were working on the Incursions, and are still working on finding the bug.

Slow zeppelin is slow. Why bother with it?

Mount up and fly there, you’ll get there faster almost every time.

Will never happen under the current Blizzard mentality/management.

It wouldn’t surprise me in the least if part of the “Kill the water striders” thing was because the [Summon Random Favorite Mount] button was ‘too smart’ and went against Blizzard’s “Anti-automation” policy.

That and the fact that mounting up takes almost 2 seconds, the macro will be long done and gone before the aura becomes active for it to dispell. They can’t stick around and interact with something that hasn’t happened yet.

It’ll always require a second button or it’ll interfere with using the button do dismount/remount.

Oh I know. I first tried to combine them. Then toddled over to the helpful UI & Macro forum. They let me know what was up.

So now I press my mount icon, then I click the aura off.

I think, for my suffering, they should devote a team to addressing this horrible trial I must face.

Seriously. If anyone is laughing at the above, understand that this is the level of player activity that has the Strider gone: players were riding mounts they absolutely hated the look, and sound of because they couldn’t click a button.

~sighs~

Anyway, what’s important to me is that I’ve removed the system, and things are back the way I want them - even if I have to click an extra button every time I mount. Imagine - taking responsibility for my enjoyment and the execution of my playstyle. :stuck_out_tongue:

I haven’t played too awful much since the patch. If anything this appears to have fixed the damn water walking problems I had with the strider. I used this thing exclusively with my teams, I box five, since pandaria and until flying is released.

For some reason the thing was not reliable for me over the years. It was initially but something changed it. I could be standing right next to the shore, mount my team, and randomly it wouldn’t work for one or two of them. I don’t agree with the change because this is obviously just another gating system but at least it seems to work reliably now.

I liked the look and I hate bugs. I especially liked the red one and how they both stood up. The pitter patter of their feet can get annoying over a long play time but was just adorable. I’ve been using them for so long it’s going to be really weird to not use them until flying.

The bee sounds need a toggle though! I’m deathly allergic and it’s been freaking me out since the expansion launched.

Same. A decent number of players are doing this. I see Striders more often now than I ever did before the change.

Actually it is the Wharf  Just logged in to double check game spelling lol.

While logged in I also checked my level 99 mage, she did not get it, but my 101 rogue did. Neither has done pandaria.

I know this is a late response, but I can’t stand these forums, so don’t log in much, just came today to seek another answer to another question, and followed my notifications lol.
