Stormwind’s RP was dead even back in Shadowlands. I ended up just stealthing into Orgrimmar and using Elixirs of Tongues to RP there.
Cross-faction RP is the only RP left now. I was right. Again!

Well the good news is I’m mostly Alliance-based now.
I’m in Bastion now and I really like it!
Had a realization: my frustration with the narrative elements of this game and setting all have to do with the overarching plot, such as it is, and they really only rear up when that’s front and center. When it comes to focusing on the granular stuff, the smaller local stories, it’s consistently really good.
I love the kyrians, they’re so wholesome. And the zone is my new favorite; after all these years, hanging out in an exanite-colored place soothes my forlorn soul.
Perhaps this is the optimal way to experience a lackluster expansion, just doing the quest chains as they come and then move on to the next expac without having to spend two years grinding daily content.
Anyway, I’m having fun so far!

You’re really going to enjoy Dragonflight questing I think. So much more slice-of-life vignettes than what we’re used to.
I just said I RP’d in Orgrimmar now.

Just hit 60 and I think I’m maybe halfway through Bastion now? Exp is bonkers these days.

Assuming that was it, I dunno if I get what everybody was ominously hinting about. Sure, there’s a dark side to what the kyrian do, it makes sense that the Forsworn would have a legitimate position, but I don’t think it’s all that sinister taking everything into account. Or is there something more coming later?
Overall, I really liked it. Only complaint is the zone music is basically the same as Quel’thalas’s but boring. Same instrumentation, no interesting melody.

I’ll be honest, positioned as that was in the context of everything else I know about Warcraft, it never even crossed my mind to condemn the kyrian for that. I instantly and unconsciously filed it under “Unfortunate Blizzard Ideas” and moved on.

A certain amount of “don’t think about it” is crucial for navigating Blizzard lore. Funny how the instinct is still there after taking a few years off.
