Axes design, why its so weird?

WoW has about 350 two handed axes, why all of them looks so weird?
Theres no more than 5 good axes.

Where are the large, sharp blades with a shape that actually resembles blades?
and not a round fat piece of metal that looks like a toy ball?

PARAMETERS:

Primal Gladiator Decapitator, Gorehowl, Crash of tides = EXCELENT DESIGN

Fyr’alath, Eternal Aspirant Greataxe, Devastating Drakonid Waraxe = TERRIBLE weapons that look like TOYS (90% axes looks like that)

I love axes but yeah, there are very few that I enjoy the look of in WoW. I’m also very picky though and I own that.

Hope you mean the original Gorehowl, not that travesty found in the DF dungeon.

for me the problem is gold tone, doens’t look like a orc thing… yet is one of the best (maybe the best)

Those look more appropriate for Diablo than WoW. Just their art style.

I’ve never been a fan of certain weapon designs in this game, axes being one of them. I mostly use swords since I’ve never liked the designs of a lot of other weapons.

My problem with swords is most 1h are sheathed at the hips and it looks stupid when you’re not in combat.

I’m the same. I prefer more traditional looking weapons and not the huge colorful ones.
