AV map layout why is this not a priority. This was addressed and fix back in the day

Itā€™s gonna get real awkward if they make this change and you guys still find a way to lose the majority of games.

The Alliance can actually hold the SHGY chokepoint forever if they want to, but they give up eventually because they get their rep gain and then it dies out. Itā€™s pretty obvious when they successfully hold SHGY for 10-15 minutes and then all the sudden thereā€™s like half of them there and we push through effortlessly.

It just blows my mind though we donā€™t have korrak in the era that he was born in.

So funkflex you do agree as a horde player get to balinda at the same time as alliance does need adjusted.

you can beat mace stun / resto druid with Hunter / resto druid XD just spam ice trap if he trinkets or something spam concussive shot and roots.
I once had a 3 hour arena game because it was druid druid versus warrior hunter and we just ran around pillars for 3 hours. fun
BC Arena has its flaws, but id rather have that than dampening and healing reductions.

I do agree, but alliance need to try harder, the horde try hard because we wait 2 hours for one game, so yes we are like angry dogs, but I would agree to make the spawn all the way at drek.

The main issue with alliance is this:
Majority of alliance players are in blues/greens with 60% mounts and are trying to get exalted so they can get a couple epic peices. The well geared players all left. Alliance is stuck with team B and C. Horde has a nice mixture of A,B, & C players because AV is still an option for them to rank up so they have faster mounts and better geared players.

Laintime but you need to understand we would like to win a game sometime too. Not just get choked at a GY and fight for 45mins to lose. Thats my point. Mke it so we meet in the middle.

The way ā€œDefenderā€™s Advantageā€ works, every meter further away from SHGY and closer to IBGY the first fight takesā€¦gives the Horde more and more of an advantage. Making the fight happen ā€œin the middleā€ doesnā€™t suddenly make Alliance win more games.

But this really isnā€™t the case. Alliance will wait for the Horde to show up there. Having an epic mount, Iā€™ve timed it at about 30 seconds from the time the Alliance pile up near SHGY and the horde showing up.

If the alliance were to keep moving, the clash would happen in the Field of Strife.

However, the infinite idiocy Iā€™ve seen regularly in AV is really a player-created issue, and not really as much a design flaw.

It is, because by then horde is being hit by allies, their towers, and guards.

The horde cave being move back was done with the additions of reinforcement mechanics, which was only done because horde could reach 2/3 mines faster than alliance and that is what gave them the edge.

Alliance seem to always forget that the initial clash location gives them a home field advantage because of where the first clash happensā€¦

A battle in the middle of a field with no objectives is pointless anyway. If you arenā€™t fighting near or on a flagā€¦the battle is just for HKs

Humans get two weapon perks, and not even at a reduced rate to compensate for that. Letā€™s also not forget that Troll racials are borderline hot garbage and practically a dead race as far as min/maxing goes. Thatā€™s why everyone makes fun of us for being Orcs and Undead.

If weā€™re going to try to argue advantages canceling each other out weā€™re going to be here all day. Like I said the game, as a whole, wasnā€™t designed in a way that was supposed to be even, or even perceived to be that way. Did they do a good job? Well, Horde are clearly considered the favorite so probably not. Back then we were not playing the game the way we do now and all those obvious issues have came to light.

But we knew this would happen, and so did Blizzard. ā€œYou think you do, but you donā€™tā€.

I was aware. Itā€™s niche, but strong when used right. It has certainly messed with me when fighting them if I try to intimidating shout. But regardless itā€™s still got a strong use in PvE as well.

From what Iā€™ve seen in AV, alliance do fight to lose. Because they are prioritizing maximized honor/rep over trying to winā€¦

Havent lost a game since the changes take place, started to agree with the alliance on the map things, even though they donā€™t try as hard as they should, they need to ā€œnerfā€ the horde spawn back to drekā€™thar, and maybe even widen our roads a little, they are pretty tight.

Ive read its easier to lose over and over again than it is actually to win (mathematically) ā€¦ gross (considering good ā€œfarmingā€ of honor which is all anyone cares aboutā€¦ not playing the game or pvp for fun.)

I donā€™t blame any Alliance for not queueing into the situation that AV is TBH, but the whole reason why Alliance canā€™t win AV has been a shifting narrative since it launched. Fixing the cave isnā€™t going to help you as much as you think it will.

I am not opposed to fixing things. I 100% think that people should be spawning at graveyards instead of starting-caves if you own a graveyardā€¦But i want changes to actually have the desired effect.

I think moving the Horde cave back does literally nothing on this version of the map though, and would be a worthless change to put in.
