IBGY has a near impregnable defense that if horde lose they basically lose nothing because of the cave so they can ignore it till it has been taken.
SHGY has no such choke point and if taken the alliance basically lose the game, if the alliance start pushing out from SH the horde have a giant flank they can use to force the alliance back or they lose the game due to no southern GY.
All his argument and that of the other two trolls in this thread come down to is that alliance can turtle until horde summons the ice guy, if they stack all 40 players on SH or in DB.
right which means each side plays the game differently. Its like saying oh hell we gotta go to a different country to fight we automatically lose because the terrain is different. NOPE you formulate a plan based on the terrain and the enemies weaknesses. Problem is people have it SOOOOO stuck in their head that if its not a mirror its broken. Thank god our ancestors didnt feel that way and we are where we are today because of their ability to adjust to uneven differences.
You realize that this works against you, right? Countries lost skirmishes and wars due to terrain disadvantages. You have 2 choices, fight, or not fight. Sometimes the only option is to fight even though you know youâll lose. Others choose not to fight at all.
yet in wows case, has been done multiple times. I see alliance ride by all to ib gy yet complain about the towers helping us but dont cap them. Same with our other tower nearby. I almost never see stealth to fw gy then to our base. The alliance today are nothing like the old. They did this, they overwhelmed all the nodes forcing choices so you were able to in the long run cap things. This literally never happens you pick 1 thing and thats it. Stealth almost never go north which can be said with horde which was always done in vanilla. Even the race to base wasnt fully undefended i always remember 10-15 horde recalling to base and helping to simply slow down the aggressors long enough for us to push alli base. To many defeatists attitudes today is the problem.
Your lack of knowledge betrays you. If you actively participated in AV and focused on objectives like ivus, ram riders and airstrikes you can win. You encourage people to whine about supposed imbalances that didnt exist in original wow. Alliance won many avs in 2005/6. It seems modern day players are actually dumber because they dont do the objectives to win the battleground.
Basically git gud and learn to win. The alliance premades did it to themselves. Av wasnt designed for premads. Elitists scorned their own faction and left them to fend on their own against horde players who DO want to win. They play to win. You dont. Thats the main issue on classic. If you cant win by cheesing in 6 min you refuse to play.
This is why the reinforcement AV makes much more sense. Defense actually matters there, if you can defend well and kill 2 or 3 of theirs for every 1 of yours then you can run them out of reinforcements. Of course, if you just give up towers then youâd better defend really well because those are worth a bunch of reinforcements.
But at least it rewards good defenders with something. Right now defending the bridge does next to nothing for the alliance.
With the horde turtle just south of SHGY youâre not getting any of these. You might get ram riders if you can convince a few stealthers to forgo the honor grind and go get some hides. However, the ram riders die pretty quickly if you donât coordinate sending the druids at exactly the same time.
Of course, thatâs nearly impossible to do because random BG. If only people could go as a group and have a cohesive strategyâŚ
You do realize you only need like 2 people doing them. ive done them on horde and if you start right away you can finish them in 20 minutes. If a random horde pug can coordinate turn ins, alliance can do the same. You dont even need stealthers, Ive seen multiple alliance sneak past the line and actually work on the wolves. Iâve actually been ganked while taming wolves cuz alliance needed to kill them.
If only there was some type of chat system that could be used to coordinate a strategy with random people, like a type of chat window or even inviting people to some type of voice chat server per game.
Maybe instead of focusing on trying to get premades back you think of ways to get pugs to work together toward victory instead of everyone fighting over reputation and resulting in event NPC moving at bad times?

Everyone has a minute or so to get into the discord channel before it starts.
Talk to people about strategy, send groups 1-6 on defending the first push from horde, groups 7-8 go south and start caping towers and such, donât even try to hold them, just cause a mass cap fear at the same time. After that hold off the horde as best as you can at the objectives rotating to cut them off.
As horde panic into defence cap IBGY and get a 30 man hold onto it until it caps. Having 5 keeping your southern GY safe from backdoor capping. Having the other 5 capping other objectives to distract the horde, donât even try to hard cap the other objectives, these 5 should be stealthers.
Sure this specific strategy isnât perfect, but the point it TALK to your team, get them motivated to try to win. Because itâs not the map holding you back, itâs the 20+ teammates that hav already given up before the game even started.
Need to convince the elitist alliance premaders to GIT GUD and come back to AV and show their faction they can win without cheesing.
NEWSFLASH, you arent skilled in pvp when you premade in classic wow. The real skill in gameplay is facing off against pugs.
