I’ve argued for a slight delay (like 3 seconds) on the horde gate opening before as well to fully simulate moving the horde cave back in case Blizz wants to keep the AV 1.12 map without changing actual locations.
Which would preferably be reverted. No changes are better than any changes. At least it’s a baseline that we can agree is as Vanilla like as possible. Any change deviates from that, and we are no longer playing what was advertised.
Yes, and then people who wanted to enjoy Classic and not move on to TBC are given the middle finger for all eternity with a horribly broken version of content that is probably a large part of the reason they wanted Classic to begin with.
Because people like to feel like gods. It’s why twinking was so popular (and controversial). People will do anything to hold onto that feeling, including dragging the entire game down for both factions with absolutely no remorse so they can keep feeling like gods in AV.
I hope Blizzard looks past these people and does the right thing.
I hate to break the news but many months ago this topic was brought up and it still hasn’t been changed. You really have to choices, play with the way it is now or move on to the other bgs.
We all know the cave spawn is a big deal because in the next expansion it gets fixed but just like world buffs and other things we’re not getting fixes to this so you have to adapt.
Perhaps, but I want to keep this thread up until we get some answer. Waiting until BC is not a good enough reason to stop asking why AV is imbalanced.
AV is the main reason I came back to classic in terms of PVP (which is the reason I play wow). So I feel obligated to keep asking until we get an answer as to why this imbalance is being left here.
Adhering to the museum philosophy for Classic is not a good enough reason to leave AV in its current state. There’s nothing to be gained by intentionally leaving a piece of content in an unplayable state (at least in terms of legitimate, intended gameplay) just so Blizz can say “we stuck to our guns”.
The difference between Classic WoW and a museum is that when you go to a museum, you don’t get to interact with the relics other than to observe them. In Classic, we’re not just observing the relics, we’re living them. Recreating the experience should matter more than recreating the code, and AV in its current state was never the intended experience from the devs.
If that is true it is absolutely a bug and should be fixed (assuming alliance holds SHGY)
This however, if the cave spawn is closer to the corpse, the respawn location should be the cave. Should always be proximity to where death occurred imho.
Caves should not function as respawn points unless there are no other GYs for that team. That one single change would dramatically even the playing field without changing anything about the geography of the map.
