AV Cave Rez situation

Side game or not, that’s no excuse for doing it badly.

Even with that being true though, this should have been accounted for. Especially from a company with two prolific pvp based RTS games.
.
Edit: TBH, I am surprised they didn’t have us all drop ears since the PVP feels like they borrowed pretty heavily from D2 LOL.

In all fairness these were the same designers who thought the vanilla honor system was a good idea so it’s clear they just didn’t get pvp.

OMFG this is such an accurate statement.

The meme regime of AV complaints continues.

just put a sign on the StoneHearth GY that says No Alliance Allowed and maybe they’ll stop loitering all game.

They should have an NPC there that reminds them that the general is down south, not in the north end of the zone.

Or maybe some sort of win/loss ratio to show people that one side has massive advantages.

MASSIVE

Sorry, but no.

I mean i get you’re defending your own faction, but you’re just wrong, and in actuality, most of what you post is wrong. You just don’t understand because you don’t want to.

I am willing to concede that some things need tweaked, but elevating things in a absurdly dramatic volume of “MASSIVE” is just silly.

Badly because people are applying 2020 mentality and philosophy to a 15 year old game from a different, simpler era. That’s the real issue here.

No, it was bad 15 years ago too.

And it’s destroying the fun in the game.
Literally sat through a conversation between people believing that casting scorch on a boss to help stack ignite debuff is more beneficial than casting fireball.
At some point in our WoW life, we’re going to stop letting others determine how to play the game and just play the game.

This is what happens after 15 years of a vicious cycle of a small handful of entitled, elitist min/maxers whining and complaining and Blizzard listens to them and adopts design decisions based around that. You brainwash players that fun…doesn’t matter. That the sheer joy of playing has no value.

I read these comments and I just feel sad for people. It’s like playing just to have a good time and get lost in a video game isn’t even a consideration. It’s entirely about efficiency, it’s about nitpicking every little perceived imbalance. And as I’ve said before, those people will NEVER be satisfied. They’ll never stop complaining. I’m not trying to be a psychiatrist here, but after 15 years of reading this forum that’s the clearest takeaway.

I look back at my Vanilla time and I envy the players of that time…the vast majority of them anyway. I envy myself when I could just relax and play a game. The culture was different, the attitude of the players was different. It was just a GAME. That’s been lost. And it’s sad.

Well, that’s not even a fair statement to make. In Classic right now most players aren’t obsessing over things like the AV map. They’re just playing and having fun. This thread and others like it are, again, just a very, very, very small percentage of the playerbase who obsess over things that ultimately don’t matter. Yeah, that’s right, they don’t matter. If they did, then the BfA forums would be a land of peace and joy where everyone joins hands and sings. But it’s not…it’s even more negative and volatile than Classic forums. All the ‘balance’ and homogenization and QoL and whatever else Blizzard has added over the years hasn’t made the game more FUN. It’s just made players focus, concentrate and fixate on an infinite amount of variables that will never and can never be perfected. So it’s a never-ending QQ-fest.

But people are free to complain about whatever they want, but Classic should not be altered because of it. This is a representation of Vanilla. That’s all it is. This is the Vanilla map, so take it or leave it. So my suggestion to these players is to CHILL OUT, relax, stop taking the game so seriously. Repeat after me: it’s just a game.

Randomizing the starts is a good idea. Our NPCs need some real walls and roofs, it’s winter
Anyway nothing will happen, get over it, reroll, or wait for TBC. Or wait for wotlk in 2026 and god mode human racial

misadventure you killin dude, lmao.

I don’t see why we need a drastic solution like randomized starting position (which means people will AFK if they’re on the “north team”) when there is a simple solution sitting right under our noses: just make the cave respawn take priority after all 4 faction GYs are gone.

Simple fix that doesn’t require anything major.

Do both. Neither one of them should be anything major. And if one starting position makes a lot of people AFK then clearly it needs to be fixed.

This. And they should expand the random start location to the other BGs as well. I know that’s a pipe dream, but it is the way they should have been designed from the start. At this point, I would settle for the no respawn solution though lol.
