Erm, this one is pretty straight forward. Auto loot isn’t looting everything on a mob. Perhaps six times tonight, from BfA zones to old raids, when auto-loot was done doing its thing (window opens, “all” loot goes into my bags, window closes), there was still loot left on the corpse.
The sparkly is gone at this point so one needs to hover the cursor back over the dead mob to make sure all the loot is picked up.
Not sure when this started… maybe with Tuesday’s reset.
Might be this too. I honestly didn’t notice on my end, but I’ll update if I do.
Edit: While it may indeed happen on loots that are two pages or more, I can confirm that it happened to me right now with a loot that was only three items.
- Alchemy → Transmute Herbs to Anchors
- Received Bag of Anchors, then right-clicked on it.
- Loot window opened with two items (Anchor Weed x10, Anchor Drop x1.)
- Those two items went into my bags, and the loot window closed.
- I still had the “Bag of Anchors” in my bag.
- Right-clicked on Bag of Anchors.
- Loot window opened with one item (Anchor Drop x1.)
- That loot went into my bags. Loot window closed.
- Bag of Anchors - now empty - disappeared.
- I now had the total loot (Anchor Weed x10, Anchor Drop x2) in my bags.
EDIT: Resolved in 8.3. Thanks all.

Just wanted to say that this is still happening. Auto-loot is broken. I’m having to go back to loot additional items from mobs, herbs, and mining nodes consistently across all characters (and yes, I’ve double-checked that auto-loot is checked). Please fix this soon Blizz!

Yeah, I was going to come back today and post that I’ve seen the behavior spread to mining nodes and herbs, but you beat me to it
I’m pretty much seeing this happen anywhere I am “looting” an item. Could be on a corpse in the world, in an old raid or dungeon, on an LFR chest, a mining or herb node, a “reward cache” like the bag of anchors or a lockbox, etc.
I’ll add that this isn’t some kind of lag issue either; my latency always sits around 20-30ms, so it’s not like the window is closing before I’ve had the chance to loot the item or something. All of the loot is simply not appearing in the initial loot window that opens.
In an average hour of playing, doing WQs, normal questing, old raids or whatever, this is happening to me about a half a dozen times. Yesterday I played for about four hours and counted 25 “messed up” loots, plus an additional three items that came back to me in the mail via the Postmaster.

I just came on here to say how annoying this bug is. Has anyone found a fix for this? Or is it something Blizzard needs to look at?

I’ve found no way around it, and there’s no rhyme or reason to where it happens.
I did a transmog/pet run in HFC yesterday on my priest, and every single boss loot had this problem, with loot being left behind or mailed to me.
Day before that, I did HFC on my druid, and there were only one or two bosses with this problem.
It’s just becoming normal to double-check every loot, sparkles or no sparkles, and pick up a few deliveries from the Postmaster when I get back to town.
It’s very annoying and so random! Especially when herbing or mining - I’m sort of getting used to checking if the node is still there. I hate when i forget to check and start flying away only to see the node still on my minimap and have to fly back… I don’t understand what could have changed to cause this issue when everything was fine before! >.<

Been observing this as well lately

This is also happening when I run ICC. I’m using auto-loot and the Loot-a-rang. It doesn’t loot all the items off the boss, so I often have to go back and loot it again.

I noticed it only happens when there’re two or more units of the same item. Like herbs and nodes, bosses that drop 2 of the same item, or loot bags of any kind. It’s very annoying.

I hadn’t noticed this, but you’re totally right. It’s always a duplicate item that gets left behind.

Yeah this has been happening to me lately. You think you looted everything but there still is a sparkle and it’s the same loot/item you got.

I have noticed this especially while doing mog runs. Sometimes after making a u-turn I’ll find out that I boss I previously looted is still sparkling and has leftover loot that was flashed as granted when i initially looted the corpse. That happens 4 out of 10 times. It’s a minor inconvenience since the loot is automatically sent to your mailbox but i had no idea why i kept getting 5-6 items sent to my mailbox when I made sure I looted everything.
