We had a tool to fix this. They didn’t do anything with it.

The current president of Bliz was streaming his own key sales.
I run keys and none of that ever stopped me from running them.
Keep staring at it because looking away or scrolling past it is just a bit too difficult.
Blizz cant seem to stop screwing up. I wish they would just kill wow and be done with it.
Again, while technically true, the number of advertisements was quite large and more advertisements were replacing the ones that Blizzard nuked. It was a game of whack-a-mole, only with far less fun involved for everyone.
Blizzard had to do something to stop the vast majority of the advertisements and they did.
This was something we asked them to do, mind you. We were constantly telling Blizzard to do something about the advertisements. Well this is it.
Tech changes and the people evading the solutions that tech seeks to provide change as well.
idk what tool you’re referring to but it would seem the current authenticator change is working quite well since I only saw that 1 wts ad in dungeons and 0 in raid lol

Any efforts made to ease up on it or methods of getting around it would just mean we go back to 20+ wts posts every time you look.

I had no issue running keys before this. That’s a you problem. Get gud.

Okay, here’s the thing…
Let’s say I’m a new player. I hit 60 and I want to get started in Mythic dungeons, so, I open up the group finder and I search for a group.
Pre-9.1.5: I would have seen mostly advertisements for boosting services. Not only would it have made it difficult for me to find a group that I could join but if I decided to start a group, other people may have trouble finding my group because of all those advertisements.
Post-9.1.5: I see more legitimate groups than boosting services. It’s easier for me to find a group, and if I decide to host one, it will be easier for others to see my group.
There’s a clear winner here, and it’s Post-9.1.5 by a long shot.

The advertisements are still there, in smaller numbers but they will be back. Only a fool would believe otherwise.
This is just a temporary bandaid for a problem that Bliz could have approached by actually addressing the issue with technical support and banning those who are responsible for this. Instead, they chose to limit game features for those of us who do not want the invasiveness of a game accessory being added to our phones.
