So i’m gonig to ask this as politely as i can. I will have some annoyances but i’ll try to keep them brief
- Is it possible to set up my email for the authenticator and not my phone. Even if it’s an alternative email (since access to the account would also indicate potential access to my primary email. which ofc would bypass the value of the authenticator).
I ask because i’ve seen far too many issues with the authenticator from checking on posts down bellow, in any instance where someone may misplace their phone for a short duration. And the only options to recover it seem to be

Send in a ticket. Which has issues with pixel size, for not accepting them. Not to mention actually sending a ticket is borderline impossible. Since your entire system for “help” is predicated around an infinite loop of “if this doen’st solve your problem, check this . . need extra help? here are other options”. . . No actual people to talk to directly, interact with directly just an infinitely looping algorithm.

If the ticket doesn’t’ work. Make a new email (or a dummy email), to make a new account with the same exact name. Just to send in a ticket which already failed for different reasons. So that doesn’t really fix much

Spend several hundred dollars to buy a new phone, and whatever extra is needed to keep the number you had on the previous phone.
All of these seem like they can be fully circumvented by just attaching it to my email instead of my phone (not the same email, for the above mentioned purpose)>
I’d be ok without an authenticator entirely, but it’s a required thing to even play the game. Since the LFG tool can’t be used without it, and anyone who plays more than casually requires that access. So you’re subsequently required to put your entire game access on whether or not you lose your phone. . Which btw, is far more likely to occur than someone hacking 2 of my emails.
