I have everything all set the way it needs to be. But, I had my password reset, and my authenticator removed. And, never had any notification on my phone to verify that someone logged in my account. This makes me think it was a technical issue, on Blizzard’s side. And wondering if anyone else had this happen? It happened while I was playing, so very weird, if it was someone doing it, that I wasn’t logged out.
I would stay logged in and contact support to be safe, it could be that someone got your info and tried to get into your account, so I would check to see whether it was an oopsie by blizzard, or the latter.
If that was true, I would have gotten a notification to approve a log in. Since the IP would be different, on the authenticator.
If the authenticator was removed it won’t show given its no longer tied to your account I believe, given the point of the authenticator is to add another layer of login security. Which won’t work if its no longer tied similar to other authenticator style apps, so what’s more probable is someone got your relevant information, called blizzard and pretended to be you to try and access your account if what you said above is true.
I would re-secure your account right away.
This has all the signs of an account compromise
I’d suggest moving this to Customer Support and get the best ticket path and advice.
This and stay logged in, if someone has the account info then as soon as OP logs out they’ll be able to access their account.
I did that before anything, with a new password and authenticator reattached. I did everything I need to do. Just curious if it happened to anyone else.
If you were still using the old Authenticator app instead of the new one, then blizzard is removing the old authenticator.
I use the one on my phone. I never used the physical one.
Ya there’s the old app that was on your phone and now there’s the new one, nada to do with the physical one
That would be the issue then. After updating the app just now, it said this app is being discontinued. When I read about that, I thought they meant just the physical one. Not the one on the phone.
Ya I know recently there was a thread in in CS forum from someone having a similar issue
Thanks for all the info. I only noticed the authenticator wasn’t attached after the extra bag space from my primary bag was removed lol. It’s the only reason I even put it on.
