Authenticator question

Greetings!

I have a question regarding the authenticator migration with multiple accounts.

Last year I took ownership of my deceased husband’s battlenet accounts/wow licenses (thank you again for your help with that). I rolled his battlenets into my mobile authenticator and I have migrated to the new app successfully (to include using the authenticator to log into those bnet accounts).

I recently got the emails about the migration for those 2 accounts (but not my main account) and it made me wonder…would I still be covered? Am I still able to keep all 3 bnet accounts on the same authenticator?

Thanks, CS folks. I spend a lot of time reading these forums, and you all are awesome!

I don’t believe that they will still work under the same authenticator unfortunately :frowning:

It used to be that you could use the same authenticator for 3 accounts, but that was changed long ago and no longer is the case.

That said, if you have more than one device, it’s still possible, just not as intuitive. But my understanding is that each account now requires its own device for authentication due to malicious parties taking advantage of how it used to work.

Thanks Perl. I was hoping that since all three currently work under the new app that it would stay that way.

I guess I will find out it stays that way or if I have to come up with something else!

If they’re all currently working under the new app, then you might be in luck! They may have decided to grandfather in people with that setup.

Morning, Perl! I tested my ability to log into all three accounts this morning and so far so good, the authenticator is still covering them all. I’m hoping you’re right and I’m grandfathered in. If it doesn’t stay that way, I’ll have to come up with a way to secure them again (and I’ll post in case anyone else comes looking for this info). Thank you for your help! <3
