I have a new phone and I had to remove the Authenticator. I was having Issues this morning with the App. I kept trying to get it to work and added and removed the authenticator a few times. I accidently deactivated the Authenticator in the App now but that doesnt remove the Authenticator from the Account. Long story short, I am now not getting any of the Text Messages to remove the Authenticator again. I just want to remove it for now before I get locked out of my account. What can I do? its been 8 hours and I am still not getting any text messages. The phone number is correct and worked just fine earlier.
Try following the steps here. Click on the “continue” button. On the next screen it will ask you to verify your account. Since text and the authenticator don’t seem to be working you can chose the last option to verify account information. If you don’t know the info there should be an option at the end to make a ticket.
I’m kind of in the same boat as you are. Although I didn’t deactivate it in the app, I removed it from my account (by accident because the app wasn’t working properly) and now I can’t get the Authenticator to even do what it’s supposed to do in the app. I can’t even restore it. I talked to Blizzard Tech for about 3 days and it felt like a complete circle of getting nowhere. I do hope you have more luck than I did.
