Imagine how’s the economy in countries where cases are double or triple your rate.

Lol @ the people defending Blizzard on this one. Less dungeons and content every expansion, more cash items in the shop. Yes people are right it’s a business, but my personal opinion is a lot of Australians are going to stop playing because of this which is the main negative for me as someone who plays on OCE realms, I also think the optics doing this when Covid 19 has put a lot of people out of work when Blizzard have fired staff yet had record profits is going to be the kicker for a lot of people. I don’t know why a lot of Americans come in here and talk about how Blizzard can do what they they want and how they Blizzard shouldn’t ‘bear the burden’ of our ‘weak dollar’ they pulled the same stunt in 2018 when our economy was a lot stronger. At the end of the day, Blizzard has chosen a poor time to do this, and that’s the real issue.

What about in 2010-2011 when the aud was stronger than the usd and we still paid 16.50 pm.

I’m guessing many have said this already, but this has to do with fluctuations in exchange rates.

As someone who pays my NA sub in a foreign currency (THB) I never know from month to month what my exact sub price will be. I know it will be pretty much the equivalent of $15USD, but in my currency I live with day to day, it changes every time.

For you, it changes rarely, and you are paying less than the equivalent of $15USD.

AND you have servers located on your continent. Something I don’t get to enjoy.

Sounds like a net positive to me.

Blizzard was simply making the sub equal to the US one. Although it’s still slightly cheaper than the US price.

You’re still paying around 50 cents less in USD than US players.

You get zero sympathy for me. You were paying $12 USD for the same content we pay $15 for.

This is just bringing it in line.

Because you have been paying $3 less USD than the US for the past 8 years.

What is hard to understand about the fact they’re putting the cost in line with the US.
