So today it was announced that there would be a significant price increase for Australian subscriptions, up to $5 a month more for monthly subs. This is extremely poor form Blizzard especially when yourself have made record profits and a lot of Australians are doing it tough due the Covid-19 pandemic. Really? Why now just before an expansion drops that you decide to drop this? Even though I can easily afford the sub, this just doesn’t sit well with me.

They’re changing to account for conversion rates. If it makes you feel better, you’re still paying less than a US player does. At the current rate, $19.95AUD is $14.51 USD.

Wow, that kind of blows after people have bought the expansion and now they are going to say “oh btw we are increasing your subscription cost by 33%”.
Honestly that really makes me consider refunding and cancelling sub. Just really base move.
Our rate has always translated differently but respectfully been kept consistent, they made a whole post about it years ago.
The reason it is now so significant is due to how badly our economy is faring in the current social situation of the pandemic, which makes it even worse that they are essentially saying “I’m sorry to hear you are doing really poorly with the current covid situation, now that you are down and out of work how about we increase the cost of services for you?”

I remember how FO3 had to change things like chems just for AUS, they had to make it all first person and super vague (and getting all versions changed too) or how they butchered up Left for Dead (Gladly that stayed isolated).
I know everything mostly stays in their weird little island bubble but it’s just so old timey… Ideas like games cause violence and anime is cp are just so dated.
