It ain’t a tank, but it is arguably much worse to face.
Give it at least a +25% damage taken baseline, make it squishier to have some kind of trade off for doing that much.
Remember the tragic meta last season with Ret/Fistweaver/X?
Enter Season 2, Augmentation/Fistweaver/Melee with the Melee doing consistent 100k dps and 200k+ on burst.

Also I imagine they’re more likely to simply nerf their numbers across the board, perhaps compensate with a big of damage ala Unholy because I’m not sure they can randomly apply to a debuff to a single non-tank spec to take more damage.

Just like pet classes aug shouldn’t be the least bit viable in pvp, but they don’t care about this little minigame of ours.
BM, Demo and Unholy are mostly fine aside from nameplate clutter.
Nah. Aug is actually kind of squishy. The issue it has a lot of ways to stay alive and escape.
You can absolutely be 100-0’d by a sub rogue if you don’t prewall or renewing blaze with the 4 second heal back. Hunters also seem to mess me up pretty well on the aug
I mean there’s a lot of ways to stay alive. But taking 20% extra damage when they’re not a tank is just trolling. That would make them unplayable.
absolutely agree, without coordination its very hard to bring them down, 3 instant living flames for healing, big barrier from blistering scales, a rally from their obsidian scales, verdent embrace + emerald blossom. then just time skip if you absolutely ran out of things to press.
I’ve also just straight up died in a stormbolt > asphyx from warrior uh dk through wall lol.
theres times where they can die for sure. generally theyre a bad target.
Yes, now focus the Aug evoker while his teammate dps is an Affliction Warlock or Frost mage and you autolose within 2 minutes if some caster is free.
Or melees hitting you for 200k per global.
Yeah, hit the Aug evoker as it is right now. Especially with those 2 having a decent healer. Best of luck.
hard but not impossible, the most egregious variation is moonkin aug, 250k halfmoons, 400k+ fullmoons

I think Blizzard is forgetting about this factor altogether. Just give some classes everything.
When I play my Windwalker monk alt, I can global people in seconds. But I can also face a Mage / Paladin combination and be in CC and not be able to connect the entire game. There - a counter. Good into something, bad into something else.
Augmentation doesn’t have such a thing. Having its healer or 2nd dps being bad is not a counter. Do not quote your 1500 rated solo shuffle matches please.

Sure. Come back here when you face a good Augmentation + healer + Melee doing 200k dps team, or when the Augmentation evoker himself hits someone for 400k in 2 globals.
