The auction houses will be separated by faction?
I believe they will be.
Isn’t it like that now?
Currently the AH in retail is cross-faction.
I thought the auction houses would be linked like they were in 1.9.
The whole faction specific AH thing never made any sense. It’s too easy to travel between cities for regional auctioning to matter.
Or… by faction do you mean alliance and horde?
How does it not make sense?
I didn’t even know they were linked in retail now… HAH! Those thrifty goblins are worse than weapons manufacturers! Selling to the highest bidder.
Have you not played the Goblin race and did their story? They are the biggest money pinchers out there.
Also to answer your question more specifically, there are cross-faction AH’s in I believe Gadget and maybe one other one too, but those are completely separated from the regular AH you visit in SW or Org
Yes, Alliance and Horde having separate AHs.
shortest answer possible : yes
Separated :
By faction yes
By location no.
The ‘linked AH’ brought in in 1.9 was linking places like Ironforge/stormwind/darnassus instead of each having their own AH.
There is a cross faction AH in Booty Bay, but the Horde and Alliance will be separated in their main cities.
Patch 1.9.0:
Players will now be able to buy and sell goods with greater effectiveness using the Linked Auction House system. Auction Houses in Orgrimmar, Undercity, and Thunder Bluff will now share the same pool of Horde player-created auctions, and Alliance players will find the same to be true when visiting Ironforge, Stormwind City, and Darnassus Auction Houses. This system has been expanded to support the neutral Auction Houses as well. Tanaris, Everlook, and Booty Bay will all be linked for players of both factions to access.
Me neither that’s why I asked.
I know for sure that the auctions in classic, bc and wrath where not cross faction in cities but it was in goblin towns that was seperated from the faction auctions which gave us a total of 3 different auctions.
yes that came in 1.9
Prior to 1.9 there were 9 AHs (3 horde, 3 alliance, 3 neutral) all with different prices and items.
after 1.9 there were 3 AHs (horde, alliance, neutral)
Yes. That was when cross-faction auction houses were implemented.
For example, Undercity is a different faction than Orgrimmar.
The problem is that
-
faction refers to individual groups like Thunderbluff Tauren, Ironforge Dwarves, etc AND it’s used to talking about Alliance or Horde as a whole.
-
the auction houses were specific to an individual faction until 1.9. So the Tauren had their own AH that wasn’t connected to the undercity.
There are cross faction AHs( if memory serves with a higher posting fee?) In some goblin establishments. The one in booty bay would be most popular.
But not all are linked. The cross faction ones are solely cross faction and the ones in cities stay within alliance and horde respectively.
? the OP is an hour ago.
What the heck? My bad, sorry.
Maybe it’s mixing it somehow. It said sometime in March for me.
