Same here. Too risky. Actually, I feel bad buying from anyone in the AH as I worry they’re being screwed out of their gold =(
I think my other suggestion to the entire community on this is, open Game Support Tickets for each and every auction that sells and you don’t get gold. And don’t close them until you get your gold.
The customer support team tracks and answers to lots of data points:
Ticket Volume, Turn-Around-Time (time to first contact), Mean Time to Resolution, etc.
An issue like this, if enough ‘noise’ gets created, especially thru Support Tickets, it does a couple of things:
- Raises Awareness of the issue beyond the CS Team
- Provides Metrics (Ticket Volume Spike, After Action Satisfaction Surveys, Mean Ticket Time, Oldest Ticket)
- Metrics give Developers and CS ammunition with higher management
It’s important to take action, but take issue with the effect not the people.
Remain polite, but firm & clear. “It’s been X days, and this issue is still going on with out further comment from CS”. “My ticket on this is now X Days old with no resolution”. “My faith in your ability to solve this has led me to drop my auto-renew”
Where to take action
- Support Tickets (Single biggest thing I think you can do)
- Forum
- Social Media (Twitter, r/wow, etc)
- Subdrops or change from auto-renew (loss of actual revenue/projected revenue gets their attention too)
Only have 27h of game time left. Hope this is fixed soon so I can get enough gold for a token
and all they give you is some customer service mumbo jumbo, and “when the mails comes well be more then happy to assist you in getting game time to buy a token”
if i dont have game time how will i know blizz?
I ended up buying gametime and while $15 is nothing, I would like to be able to use the services that you know, blizzard offers
doubt it, i had to buy game time today. complete BS
Bravely treading where many dare not…
Day 7: I am up to 1M gold trapped in the void.
I see no light at the end of the tunnel. I hear whispers, it’s N’zoth. Cackling through my armor, every tentacle vigorously shaking a heavy bag of gold.
”Come get it, Paladin. Come, enter the void!”
Sigh, must… keep… posting…
People need gold to buy their game time. It’s ridiculous to let this go on for a week without further updates or an ETA of sorts. Completely unprofessional. I wouldn’t mind waiting 3 months for my dang gold IF they came and said ‘it will take 3 months’. But ‘a few days’ a week ago and no word or eta at this point is ridiculous. Ive been playing for over 10 years, never once took a break as many people do, but this crap is enough to make me think they don’t care one bit about their customers, because they’re getting paid anyways, so why should I keep giving them money to play? I have bought 75 tokens in 1 year, 75. That’s 1200$ and I’m just one person. I buy game time for me and my boyfriend as well as plenty of transfers & services, pets, mounts, games. We’re not talking pennies here, and we ALL give them money so we deserve some respect as clients. This is not a small f-up, and it’s been going on for over a week now with literally NO end in sight, or assurance that we WILL get our gold or items back.
The frustrating part is definitely the lack of communication. I stock piled things to sell at patch launch, sold a few hundred thousand gold worth, got nothing in the mail. No idea if I should keep selling while there is demand, or wait it out and potentially only take a small hit vs losing it all. Very frustrating.
I mainly play this game for gold making, that is my end game. If this is how 8.3 is going I might as well cancel until Shadowlands (if I even bother to return after this fiasco).
My thoughts exactly.
Would be sweet to even be able to collect my mail that’s right there cause I got a re-post in mind that could be 500k… Nope my mail is still locked up…look don’t touch
I’ve got hundreds of millions worth of stuff sitting in my mailbox if its even still there. Over 20,000 items. If my items are expiring, GM’s will have a fun time recovering everything.
And like most have said, Blizzards mistake is costing them a crap load of money from all of their services and losing the faith of their customers. Whoever decided to release this before testing all of these problems like this better hope their position with the company is worth all the money they’re losing.
Really unprofessional by Blizzard. I’m disappointed.
So every item minus the 50 I can see will be secure? What about the mails I can see?
Well prob is I can see mail now. ATM it’s 1 for my main and 1 for the banker toon that I cant collect and has time ticking. Lets assume in 29 days this will get fixed. Just to be clear still can’t see the other stuff from all this yet just these two single mails atm. Oh and the game wont let me mail from any of my toons at all.
If you’re having trouble getting out items that you can see, that would be different. Personally, I haven’t had any trouble removing items that are returned or cancelled from the AH.
It might be worth doing a Full UI Reset to rule out a corrupt UI or addon in the meantime.
But to be clear, the part I quoted is only regarding the missing AH email, not any other possible bugs.
I just logged in and my Squeaker’s mount that I bought the 6 month sub deal for is greyed out it says I haven’t collected him. When I go to the store it says I own him. I’ve been waiting on mail for 7 days thus far and this last bit is just too much. Are you guys pretending at being a company or is it like 3 lads in a basement on a typewriter? This is absolutely ridiculous.
I’ve been wondering why I haven’t been selling squat since 8.3 landed (I don’t pay close attention to my accounting because I’ve had no reason to not trust the AH or TSM before).
But last night I put a large amount of epic quality gems on the AH and checked on them a few hours later. I noticed the auction isn’t up anymore, presumably meaning it’s been sold. But alas, as of this morning I still have no mail with the gold from these sales.
So it seems I am yet another victim of this issue and it’s pretty disheartening that this issue has been known and unresolved for this long.
Someone else had mentioned something similar in the CS forums. I don’t know if it will work for you, but they said that when they logged into a different character, they were able to use it.
It then showed back up for the original character.
Hopefully it works for you too!
Thanks so much it actually worked.
It’s this that kicks off the ugly conspiracy theory side of me. I’m not saying that Blizzard isn’t working on the issue but there is a side benefit of it being broken. I’m curious to see the +/- on tokens bought with cash during this bug period
