Yea this sounds like someone just using TSM. You post at x price, they undercut by one copper, you stop posting and so they post at normal price it can be done in a few second with a scroll wheel macro and a quick scan. It’s completely legal and yes some active users will spend all day doing it, the economy is their game.

I can’t believe how many people are actually trolling this thread and the OP when there are, in fact, addons that play the AH for you and list while even filling out prices.
Completely off topic but I always scroll to the beginning of the 1 copper war and buy that one. The way I look at it 1cp is an insult of a discount. Give me a real discount and I’ll buy your cheaper item.

Addons do this, some people play the ah to get max gold across 20+ toons.
I mean you can just game the bots. Set the buyout of your stuff to 2 copper, cancel your auctions after the bots have posted, then buyout all the free money. Then proceed to get flamed by idiots who use bots and laugh at them.

Price fixing.
Someone tries to get a monopoly on an item. They buy any listings that are lower than theirs and re-list it at the price of their other auctions.
Very annoying when it happens.

I don’t use the AH anymore. There’s nothing in this game I need gold for, I get plenty of it questing, doing dailies and other activities. Not like anything other than cooking and alchemy items sell anyways you know since professions are complete joke this expac.
I hope the new revamp breaks all the addons. These type of abuses are the reason we lost the AH in the app.
And also like the guy above said, I too always scroll down to the end of the copper war and buy my items from the first person to actually undercut by a bigger margin.

It’s pretty outrageous to see that it’s a bit, too. You can tell by the name. Drives me batty.
Be glad that the Android app stopped functioning… if you think the bots are bad now, they were way worse when people could rig up and automate unlimited Android emulators and dominate the AH across multiple realms.

thats not likely a bot…its a tactic.
I use it pretty frequently myself to get you to give your stuff away so i get it cheap and flip it.
Reminds me of my experience with the item you need to tame mechanical pets. I made two of them on an alt about a year ago, just to use up the bloods they had left. Only one guy was listing them for about 18-20k each.
I followed the usual procedure unsuccessfully for a week, so I looked around online, found that a lot of servers were pricing them in the 8-15k range, and decided “screw it, I just want them sold.” Listed one for 15k, less than 30 seconds later, I had an angry whisper for “crashing the market.”
Thing is, though, it sold. For the second one, I went back to following the usual procedure just to see how long it would take, and I still have the bloody thing. I’m about to “crash the market” again because I’m getting tired of relisting it.
EDIT: Actually, I think I’ll just wrap it up during Winter’s Veil and trade it to a random hunter.
If you don’t feel the item is at the price the invisible hand should be setting it at, you’re free to take up the profession yourself and make all of that untapped gold with deep undercuts.
If that is not the case, well people are just trying to get listed first, not engage in pricing PvP (which usually takes a substantial amount of inventory and war chest to win).
I just do that out of spite for the bank bots.
And because servers are so dead anymore that I’d like to sell sometime this week instead of wasting several deposits getting undercut by 1 copper.
But at this point, mostly spite.
