Auction house changes, yay or nah?

Good. I support this change. I am a heavy user, but I avoid automating addons, because to me, it should be part of gameplay not merely a vehicle to make money.

I won’t lie, a weekly timer might actually incentivize me to use the AH again. Having to relist almost hourly for some things is too much of a chore. I have better things to do.

Let me list my full inventory twice a week without being throttled. How’s that for feedback?

How do you know it doesn’t sell? He never said that his 2000 items weren’t a part of his stock that he moves regularly. And I can tell you tmog sells. I watched a friend of mine make 5 million in under 2 months with pretty much tmog alone. Provide proof that “It doesn’t sell”.

If you think TSM is just for posting auctions then you don’t even understand even a fraaction of what it does.

All I can tell you is, no one is going around posting a thousand or more auctions a day manually, as in without addons, and there’s quite a few reasons why; and why Blizzard blues specifically mentioned automation and enabling a big improvement over the regular player in the field.

Thanks all they are targetting.

It’s almost like this should’ve been a default feature in the AH to begin with!

Not really, I’m good with it being as it it is to help deter people from posting thousands of auctions. So one person can’t control every single market in the game at once.

Good luck trying that unless you’re on a backwoods server where people do it accidentally because no one is there to even post things.

No one controls markets on a big server with many people posting.

Except, plenty do Wirt, making it very hard for a regular person to sell stuff… You already kinda admitted to one tactic they use.

I agree, there were better ways to do this:

  1. Cancellations take 48 hours to go into your mailbox.
  2. Limit all accounts to 50 auctions at a time. Account-wide. Like they did for D3.

Blizzard used the kid gloves on your guys, instead. They should have been more heavy handed.

It sells eventually. Transmog is a slow market, but there are buyers. I keep those items posted and re-posted because for a lot of them I am the only one posting that item. If someone want that appearance it’s available.

And without your botting addon to automate the process, you wouldn’t bother, which is what we all gather from this thread.

I guess the way Blizzard wants us to make gold is selling Mythic Jaina runs, since they made it 10 times easier to do that at the same time they functionally disabled making money at the AH.

@Zoumz you say that farming the AH shouldnt be as strong as farming yourself, why? they both take work, risk and both make money, what is your reasoning behind the opinion that farming should ALWAYS be better?

Please revert this annoying auction house change, it’s just annoying! Why do you want to annoy your audience ever? why? You don’t, so change it back and we can move on and forget this.

I’m not a cancel-scanner or sniper. I do use TSM paired with resources like TUJ so I can intelligently price items that are not regularly in massive demand.

I did have ~200 expired auctions come back yesterday after the hotfix and found it frustratingly-annoying to post them back up. I know some people have thousands of auctions going at a time, so I can’t imagine what their experience is like.

It seems like the issue is more so cancel-scanning; delaying the delivery of canceled items beyond # per hour (so people who made some mistake / just wants their item back / etc. aren’t affected can get it back immediately) for a period of time would substantially address the issue I suspect you’re trying to remedy without a sledgehammered approach the penalizes huge swaths of your playerbase… who are largely stuck at home trying to find ways to enjoy the game until pre-patch/expansion.

The timing on this hotfix is truly atrocious. You have a game beloved by millions of people – and more people than ever are able turn to it for long periods of time as an escape from the pandemic going on – and this happens.

If it coincided with some other content or something to give people something new to do – that would have been better. There’s nothing new to do. So you’ve got people trying to make gold to purchase the AH Mount after stating it’s impending removal.

It’s just a really bad look and a sledgehammer approach that negatively affects way more otherwise-content players to in order to penalize the uber minority.

If they know what is causing the most extreme usage, a targeted response is better.

You can make plenty of gold just playing the game, questing, doing emissaries a couple times a week, etc. It’s kept me in the black for years.
