Name calling on the forums is inappropriate.

Please, let’s keep it civil.

What? You don’t enjoy going to the AH to buy a stack of something and have to scroll through 15 pages of that single item to find the cheapest stack? Good times.

I don’t see anything ever being done about the high buyout scam without whatever fix they put in place breaking and causing false positives, but better sorting options would help prevent it from being an issue in the first place.

A buddy of mine has been caught by this scam a few times lol. Paid 900g for a runecloth and another 900g for a stack of mana pots

Those are gold buyers. They’re paying people real money to “accidentally” buy their 988g auctions. And if someone actually does buy it by accident, even better for them.

This is how it was back in the day. The AH had a godawful UI but that’s how it was back in TBC.
Just get an addon and pay attention to what you purchase.

I had that issues yestrday scrolling through the AH. I miss Auctioneer

This one really should be actionable. If you’re sorting by bid (which I think is the default), this can really screw you over if you’re already forced to click and buyout individual items a hundred times. Yes, obviously we should be careful, but people make mistakes when they have to buy a lot of something.

They are also people trying to skew the average price of goods to make their overpriced auctions look good.

This. Does anybody even really bid on auctions? I assumed most people just buyout. But yeah, I agree. At least have a sort button for buyout price instead of bids. People rig the system by having something bid for 30c then buyout for 999g

Bids are where your guaranteed profit comes from.

Auctioneer can scan ~30k auctions in about 90 seconds.

I play on an absolute potato of a laptop and my auction house addons rarely freeze up.

OR…just do what 99% of us already do to stop this, download pretty much ANY AH addon and problem solved.

Can we just start auto deleting posts by people who aren’t smart enough to know what add-ons are?

Literally this is entirely solved by downloading any of the many auction house add-ons. Which you should have done anyway to maintain data on price trends and sellers/buyers.

Or you can just have the retail AH in classic. Which I wouldn’t be opposed to since it’s objectively better.
Also it might make gold buying hand offs through the AH more difficult.

Either way it’s a simple fix kid.

Auctionator is slower then. I have a good laptop but auctioneer has so many Lua errors and a million settings so trying to fix it is a pain.

I think you need to delete and reupload Auctioneer then, because it’s very stable for me.

Caveat: there isn’t a current official release of Auctioneer for TBC yet.

ong its annoying
